One of the more fascinating and dare I say haunting encounters one has while traveling is the relics and incorruptible bodies found in churches throughout the world. Some are hard to find, such as the incorruptible body of St. ...

The Catholic Traveler Everyone is off to bed. Six hours until the bus departs for the airport.

The Catholic Traveler Just finished a day with the Holy Father, Mass at the tomb of St. Paul, climbing the Scala Santa, a visit to the cathedral of Rome and ending just inches away from relics of the Passion. Now dinner and a walk.

The Catholic Traveler Going up the Scala Santa tomorrow. These are the stairs from Pontius Pilate's place in Jerusalem that Christ climbed when he was condemned to die. Brought to Rome by Constantine's mother in 326. There are 28 marble steps incased in wood. You may only go up on your knees & it's extremely painful. I always pray & offer up the pain. If anyone has a special prayer intention, please let me know.

The Catholic Traveler Off to Rome! Today, Mass at St. Mary Major, Scavi Tour, night walk through the floodlit city.

My flight over was just surprisingly smooth. I slept for about two hours and watched The Proposal and The Hangover. By the way, I love that Delta now uses the 767-400 ATL – Rome!

The Catholic Traveler Awesome day! Started with Mass in Saint Catherine's house. Then face to face (literally) with her in her parish church of San Domenico. From here we went to see the Eucharistic Miracle of Siena at San Francesco. Then lunch on il Campo before touring the Duomo. All this by 3:00 PM. Rest of the day free to explore.

The Catholic Traveler Who's going to see the Fatima movie tomorrow? Exclusive screenings all across the country! www.catholicscreenings.com

The Catholic Traveler An early plane and an early train means I get to Siena 3 hours ahead of schedule!

Kathryn A. Carr will be visiting her daughter in Rome in November. And I was wondering if it was possible to attend the First Vespers of Advent at Saint Peter's Basilica on Sunday November 29 at 5PM. ( I saw this on the popes schedule) Do I need tickets? It is my first visit to Rome.

Ann Blaser Do you have a schedule of Rome tours through 2010? I want to take my mother on a group guided tour - but will not be ready to go until around spring 2010.

The Catholic Traveler I just found out that someone who signed up for my October trip has died. He and his wife were so excited to visit Rome. Praying for them.

This is really cool: On July 24, the Vatican Museums will be open at night! Watch the sunset over the dome of St. Peter's from the Gallery of Maps! If only I could be there. Link: http://thecatholictraveler.com/vatican-m useums-open-at-night/
