UH’s lack of size proved to be a problem, as a gritty Bulldogs squad grabbed 23 more rebounds than the Cougars (7-4). Head coach Tom Penders said his team's inability to constantly match Louisiana Tech's energy was one of the reasons for the defeat.

The Cincinnati program is at it's peak and has no where to go but down-Sumlin would have been dumb to take it-he just need to bide his time @ UH-keep winning-and he'll be in line for a job with a big time program & he'll get big time pay...

The Daily Cougar Don't panic Cougar fans, but UH head football coach Kevin Sumlin will interview for the vacant head coaching position at Cincinnati. The spot became available earlier this week, when Notre Dame hired the Bearcats previous head coach. Sources within the UH program have told The Daily Cougar that they still expect Sumlin... to agree to a contract extension with the University before the Armed Forces Bowl on Dec. 31.

I don't believe Sumlin is leaving, but I hope this does not become a trend every year and he decides to interview at other openings. It would send the wrong message. I understand him wanting to see what's out there now but will this happen again next year or the next? I understand that coaches move around but he should be worried about the bowl ... See Moregame and not interviewing at other places. This really is going to be a pain for UH if we lose another coach in the next year or two. What's the point of having a football team if we take one step forward and two back. Sumlin interviewing this year is understandable but if the university is going to make a commitment to the program and to the coach and his staff then, we as alumni, students and as a university deserve the same. Would it be ethical in any job to take a substantial pay raise knowing you'll be gone in a few days, weeks, or months? People are quick to point out that UH is in a none BCS AQ conference and that our attendance is awful, but we are making progress and with continued success we could be very successful but we need time and commitment from a coach. Would TCU be were they are if the coach was gone at the first sign of success with the program? probably not. Just because it looks like gold it doesn't mean it's gold, Just ask AB and the fools gold he found, and Dan Hawkins or Rich Rodriguez.
