The Marshall House
In 1851, The Marshall House was built as the first hotel in Savannah. In 1999, $12 million was invested in its spectacular restoration. The Hotel still has its original staircases, wood floors, fireplaces, brick walls, and guest room doors.

i asked for the most "active" room a few years ago ... 314 i believe??? heard heavy boots above my room the entire night pacing back and forth. heard furniture moving above. my room was so small, everything had it's place and there was nowhere to move furniture. i called the room above me the next morning and asked if ...they had moved furniture. of course, i prefaced the conversation with an apology for sounding crazy. they had not returned to their room until 2 a.m. i heard the furniture at midnight. my mother heard the exact same thing i did. i enjoyed my stay and want to return for my birthday next weekend but can't remember if 314 was the exact room i stayed in. if anyone out there can help me, please respond. thanks!!!Read More

If you are the Ms. Williams that visited us from Chiefland Florida on 3/2/07 - 3/4/07, then yes, 314 was your room! we had a notation in your reservation that you were interested in a more "active" room, so we put you in 314. We've had a lot of stories about that one!!!

thank you thank you thank you. i called but the person i spoke with seemed non-committal to admitting anything about a specific room ... she also said reservation records were only kept for one years. i will be calling to make reservations. i'm turning 50 and my husband is a "non-believer" and i'm hoping this changes his mind. hee hee

Although, it is for a girls weekend, we splurged anyway and reserved the Mary Marshall suite. Nothing wrong with a little pampering. Looking forward to seeing your lovely city.

Thanks for your interest in The Marshall House! Both properties have their share of ghost stories. The Kehoe House was once a funeral home and The Marshall House served as a hospital three times (once during the Civil War and twice during the yellow fever epidemic). I would say that are far as interactions go, The Marshall House gets a few more reports from its guests, but the hotel is much larger as well. Hope this helps!

Denise just got back from a weekend at the Marshall House. It was SO perfect!!! Your staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. The concierge recommended a lot of great restaurants and tours! And our bed was surprisingly the most comfy hotel bed ever! Just a super perfect stay - thank you!!!!!! Can't wait to visit again!!
