Wow - that's fantastic. I think the general public would prefer something that is more cosmetically appealing, based on discussions with many people regarding solar power.

David Parker Over investing by the goverment may hurt the renewable energy movement. Throwing money at anything is a bad idea. We need a plan that works. 124 billion for electric stations that get there energy from coal generators that we borrow money from the Chinese that our childern will never be able to pay for ... is crasy.

I've seen the Lynda Barry site before - is it just a question of establishing a larger setback for noise/reflections or are there really people who can't even stand the sight of a windmill?

America's oil capital will convert 10 city-owned Priuses to plug-in hybrids and install 10 charging stations around the city, as it strives to be a green-energy hub.

Is it crabby of my to wonder how much it costs to change hybrid to plug-in and wonder if greater efficincy would come from changing full-on gas engines to plug in? Maybe I'm wrong - just wondering.

It is not crabby at all. Some will benefit from hybrid, some from plug in, some from diesel. All will depend on your specific requirements. Do your own math and live your own green life.

A water heater made by General Electric is believed to be the nation's first commercially available smart appliance. But its smartness is ahead of its time.

It would be nice if the GE tec support was smart too, this water has an air source heat pump to heat the water so it pulls the heat out of the air around the water heater as it heats the water, to get that 62% efficiency it was tested in a 72 degree lab, they should also test it in an environment that most water heaters tend to be in, a 55 degree ... See Morebasement, most heat pump water heaters list that cooler ambient temp data as well so you can tell if it will work for you, not GE! and when asked directly GE's help line gives direct quotes from their web site and their web site lacks those specs.
