The Obvious In June 2010 I had the opportunity to be part of a small group of photographers that toured the Central Coast of California with Dave Wyman and Ken Rockwell. This album contains the landscape photos I took.

Equipment used - Nikon D300 with 80-200mm f/2.8 lens, and Canon 5D Mark II with 17-40mm lens. Photos shot in RAW a...nd minimally processed in Capture One and Photoshop CS4.

The Obvious Big Sur was indeed phenomenal. I have yet to see anything like it before... looking forward to a future visit when I will have time to stop at every turn :). Perhaps next February, when everything will be green(er).

The Obvious Tired after an all day tour of the area around Morro Bay. Tomorrow it's time for the Big Sur... everyone talks about it like it's a piece of heaven and we'll see if it's true. Thanks for the suggestions on places to visit - I wish I was by myself but I am part of a small group of photographers led by Dave Wyman and Ken... Rockwell. Great company, photography, and quite a few "to post" photos for The Obvious!

      • Melinda Hardin Payne I lived in Morro Bay for a couple of years it's a great place. Bob's Seafood has excellent Clam Chowder they were down on the Embarcadero. If you have time, stop at San Simeon & Hearst Castle on your way to Big Sur.

The Obvious Arrived in California for the first time ever... what an amazing place! Although the grass and hills aren't green, there still is so much diversity and picturesque photo opportunities in every direction.

      • Joseph N. Dassaro If you are down south, I strongly recommend the border area. Especially a place called Borderfield State Park. It is the most southwesterly location in the United States and has one of the best views. Also, the Tijuana estuary, Spooners Mesa, and the Imperial Beach Pier.
