Thirty years after their first American tour, one of the biggest bands in rock history, The Police will play their final show at Madison Square Garden in New York City on August 7. Fans unable to obtain coveted final performance tickets will now have the opportunity to be a part of this historic evening thanks to an exclusive webcast presented by Best Buy. Fans are invited to share the band's final moments on stage, live from the comfort of their own homes.
After fifteen months of touring, The Police will take to the stage one last time in New York on August 7, 2008 as a benefit for New York Public Television. Best Buy will be on-site to document the band's historic final moments on stage and will exclusively stream live footage of their final encore on BestBuy.com hosted by pop culture correspondent Lauren Scala. Last week, through the generous donations of The Police and B-52s, Public Television Rocks! raised almost $50,000 on eBay for charity with some incredible Police and B-52s VIP concert packages. The lucky winners will get to experience the final Police tour concert at the Madison Square Garden August 7th. Now, The Police are giving fans one more opportunity to support Public Television Rocks! by donating a select set of autographed instruments to be auctioned online through eBay Giving Works.
Beginning August 4th, a complete set of The Police’s instruments will be available for bidding including: Sting’s Signature Bass, Sting’s Sennheiser Microphone and Stand (used during the 2007/2008 World Police tour); Andy Summer’s Signature Fender Telecaster; plus Stewart’s Copeland’s Tama Star Drum Set (played at the 2007 GRAMMY® Awards). All of the items are autographed and come with letters of authenticity.

Spectacle: Elvis Costello with... announces that The Police will tape a television appearance for the new talk/performance series. The episode will air as part of Spectacle's debut season, to premiere later this year on Sundance Channel in the U.S., CTV in Canada and Channel 4 in the U.K., with FremantleMedia Enterprises distributing the series internationally.
For this historic music television event, Sting, Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland will perform and discuss with Elvis their varied and respective interests in music as individuals, as well as the remarkable chemistry together that has made The Police one of the biggest bands in music history.

New York Public Television and The Police have announced that an eBay auction of once-in-a-lifetime VIP concert packages, meet n' greet and photo opportunities with the band, as well as autographed memorabilia (to soon include a complete set of The Police autographed signature instruments) is now live, and will commemorate the final concert from one of the world's most revered rock bands. As previously announced, The Police will end an era at Madison Square Garden (Aug. 7, 2008), with special guests The B-52s, to benefit Thirteen/WNET and WLIW21. A second concert has been added at Denver's famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre on July 22. The Police Fan Club presale and the Citi presale will both start at 10am on February 26 and run until noon on February 28.
Tickets will go on public sale at 10am on February 29. All times are local.
