Poker Players Alliance The Poker Player Alliance (PPA) announces that House Financial Services Chairman Barney Frank (D-MA) will host a media availability during the Main Event of the 2009 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas on 7/5. Chairman Frank has been online poker’s greatest advocate in Congress, sponsoring legislation to license and regulate the game (H.R. 2267) as well as delay implementation of UIGEA (H.R. 2266).

Perhaps I am a bit misunderstood. My grief with the government is that the only reason they are taking away online poker is that they don't get their cut. I've got no problem with taxes, but as a reasoning for ruining lives by taking away something as blessed as online poker, is simply not right. The only reason I want to move to Europe is to play online poker.

John, if that happened you'd have no one left to take from through taxes. That's what you're looking to do, right? Some would describe tyranny as unjust taking (through taxes) to give to someone else.
John Hermann Ed Schultz mentioned today about Legalizing Online Poker and by doing that the US can use taxes collected to help pay for the new Health Insurance Reform. I totally agree.
