Are your losses from online gambling deductible? It's no sure bet -- the legality of online gambling in the U.S., and the tax law surrounding the activity, is not really clear.

if you keep track of all wins and losses you should be able to but they should have to be computed by the site and printed if you claim to be a gambler other than that you should not have bet, unless you freerolled, but i do not think that you should have to pay a tax if the win or average cashout is less than 10k a year

Jeff, I agree there was no way to stop the Safe Port Act (or should there be) but I was trying to say that at least a few days before the bill was actually voted on it was known that UIGEA had been attached. I emailed my Sens about it and other people should have been all over Jim Leach, Rep. Robert Goodlatte [R-VA], Bill Frist and Jon Kyl who were the major sponsors of UIGEA. In politics as in medicine, early prevention is best. ;-)

Angel Cervantes The state of North Carolinas definition of gambling is defined as games in which the players have tendered some consideration for a chance to win a prize.

So then why is the lottery legal? Its no different then poker!!!!
