Alison Nicole Mosshart (November 23, 1978) is an American vocalist and guitarist best known for her role as lead vocalist for the indie rock band The Kills. She started her musical career in 1995 with the Florida punk rock outfit Discount which disbanded in 2000. She then co-founded The Kills with British guitarist Jam...ie Hince (formerly of "Scarfo" and "Blyth Power") in 2000. In The Kills, Mosshart is known by her stage name "VV" and Hince is known as "Hotel". On September 29 2008, Mosshart performed live in Memphis with The Raconteurs. She performed lead vocals on their hit singles "Steady, As She Goes" and "Salute Your Solution." In early 2009, she formed the supergroup The Dead Weather along with Jack White, Jack Lawrence and Dean Fertita.
