Gannon was the "poor man's Tarkenton" and I mean that as a compliment, not an insult. Tarkenton was the greatest scrambling QB of all-time and I think Rich Gannon was the #2 to Tarkenton, which is not too shabby at all. I think Gannon was a great QB.

I had a friend in Michigan when I lived there who was the same way. And, with the Tigers, too, when they were really bad.
But, then I had another friend who was a lifetime Tigers fan when I met him, but a year later, in '96 after the Yanks won the WS, he was telling everyone he was a lifelong YANKEE fan. What a jerk.
