Ditto on the Career center being disappointing. :-( My son graduated in May and I know the economy stinks but they have been little help. Not good PR for future students that's for sure.

I actually went to Darla Moore business school there, out of the financial support of the donors and alumnus who send financial support I was on a strictly academic scholarships that paid for college in full w/o any major run ins with the law and alcohol. As a disadvantaged youth from a single parent home, it helped to keep me out of some trouble ... Read Morethat I could easily find myself deepr in. I used that scholarship to legtimize myself and extend my business knowledge to Harvard Business School curricula levels. So their donations have been working. They actually used to have a career center, when I graduated in December 2006. I had some interview on campus, but I didn't get any of the jobs. The jobs i interviewed for were at hte locations.. They had mock interview, and things of that nature and a USC career link, , and a website that allowed you to develop ur resume which some things used. I can figure what happened but it was there, and I don't know about the rest of the school, but the business school has come in handy since being out in the "real world" and looking for employment and sources of income.

Dr. Odom is a distinguished professor emeritus and provost emeritus at the University, as well as the executive director for the University Foundations. A graduate of the University of North Carolina in 1964, he earned his doctorate in chemistry in 1968 from Indiana University. Prior to becoming University provost in 1...997, Dr. Odom served as dean of the College of Science and math. In his 40 years at the University of South Carolina, he has won numerous awards including the Russell Research Award for Science and Engineering, the Mungo Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching, Lilly Foundation Senior Teaching Fellow Mentor, Amoco Foundation Outstanding Teaching Award, and was an Alexander von Humbolt Fellow in Stuttgart, Germany.
