- Company Overview:
- thoughtcrime ink is a non-profit, anti-capitalist apparel collective. So just what is an anti-capitalist organization doing selling t-shirts, anyway? Through sales of our activist- and politically-themed products that are union printed, “sweatshop free,” and US/Canadian made, we hope to create a significant self-sustaining fund for activist groups. - Mission:
- One of our community goals beginning in 2007 are to raise $5,000 annually for the fantastic Edmonton Anarchist Bookfair. The Anarchist Bookfair brings together radical organizers from all over Alberta with booksellers, writers, performers, educators and activists around North America and beyond for three days in discussion and workshops pertaining to making social change happen in our communities. We’re a volunteer-run collective, so it actually contributes a significant amount to the Bookfair to purchase a single, $20 shirt.
Our second goal this year is to broaden the themes of our apparel to anti-racist / ecological / queer / anti-sexist themes, in voices that are funny, provocative, optimistic and beautiful. So for this part of our project, we’re looking for your help, as we often like people’s ideas better than our own! If a thought has ever crossed your mind like “it would be so awesome if there was a t-shirt that spoke to *this* issue...” please get in touch, whether you have just a vague idea or art ready to be silk screened. (We can’t give much in return, but if we distill a shirt out of your idea we’re happy to give you several for your family and friends, as well as other fabulous thoughtcrime swag.) - Products:
