Hello T2! Need a little help here: I have a Q backpack and it's a fantastic bag; my only
gripe is that the padding in the laptop compartment skips my Macbook
Pro 15, and the thought of it getting hit with the floor upsets me. Any
advice?

Unfortunately, I ordered this bag prior to a trip, and had hoped that it would be delivered before I left, and it was not. So my beloved new timbuk2 bag sat on my front porch for several days unattended. It was during this time that some local hooligans decided to see what was in the large box that was sitting on my ...front porch for several days. Apparently, they were no where near as impressed with this bag as I was, and decided to deposit it in a local lake, where it rested for several days. Luckily, when I arrived home, I just happened to ride my bike near the bridge that it was tossed from, and saw my new bag floating there in the water. I retrieved the bag from the murky waters, rinsed it out, and applied a little simple green to the interior and let it dry in the Florida sun.Read More

Boy I'm Long winded...
As a testament to the extraordinary quality of timbuk2 products, once the bag dried, it was practically good as new. The durable nylon fabric on the bag still appears new. The zippers are all working properly, and the skateboard wheels roll as smooth as can be. The only issue is that the handle... is a bit loose and sticks a bit on the way up and down, but I think a couple drops of oil and a screwdriver could alleviate that problem. It is certainly of the quality that I have come to expect in a Timbuk2 product.Read More

I have taken one trip with the rescued bag, and it performed admirably. Packing is easy with all the pockets, and the bag feels larger than other carry-ons I’ve used in the past. The internal compression is great, especially if you need to open it for some reason while on the go. The shoe compartment is... a nice touch, especially as a golfer. The front pocket is large enough to hold a standard corporate issue 15” Dell Laptop, cable, and some other items. The external pockets work well for quick access to boarding passes and the like, but not much else.Read More

The bag rolls well over all types of surfaces, and the shovel handle makes it feel fast and responsive. It sits upright no matter what is put into the bag. The numerous grab handles makes it simple to maneuver in an airplane cabin, and it fits perfectly perpendicular into the overhead bin of the Southw...est 737’s. This makes it a lot easier to find an open slot to slip it into on a full plane, and takes up less room so others can fit their less cool bags up there too.Read More

The only compliant about the design of the bag is that the handle does not work well with the timbuk2 bags that have the pass through. I use a Commute Slim as my carry on, and because the handle is a single post, as opposed to the standard 2, the bag easily slides around on the handle and flips upside down i...f not held in place. I’ve been working on a solution, but have not come up with one. The external Frame also appears like it could be damaged under certain circumstances. However, it does appear to be replaceable if it comes to that.
Overall, a great, supremely durable bag that. I hope to get countless use out of it over the years. And of course, now it has a great story attached to it, which gives it a personality right out of the box. Normally it takes several years for my timbuk2 bags to develop their personalities.Read More

I love the Q so I wanted to tell you and share how I customized my backpack. The patch is the Tiger Army logo and there are some fun pins. My drumsticks are always with me. My 13" Apple Macbook Pro is safely stowed. The bus/train schedule shows that this bag is my constant companion on public transit.
