I posted this photo on Twitter and someone called it a Sant-o-Lantern which I thought was pretty funny. This is why Halloween pumpkins last a good long time in Tok, Alaska… Got a good cold-weather photo from your neck of the woods? Share a link with us!

John and Jill Rusyniak hosted a lovely holiday party at their Log Cabin Wilderness Lodge for the Tok community. I found out about it in the Mukluk and am glad I did as I’ve been wanting to meet John and his wife since first finding their web site. John teaches Photoshop and Web classes in Tok. ...

Winter is decidedly milder here in Maine, although you wouldn't know it by the way they talk in Boston and New york. We moved here from MN and loved how nice easy and warm the winters are here.

Even so, its blustery and about to snow today. We're tucked inside with our radiant floor heat and some good coffee on.

Eagle sub and & 7 mile sub are actualy part of the cold belt here, so whatever the temp in town you can count on it being 10-15 degrees colder in those spots.

Hummm, I really don't remember meeting Santa as a kid, but I'm sure I must have, because I really wanted to be one of his elves when I grew up. :)
