Topeka Zoo To Offer Free Admission In Honor The Topeka Zoo will be offering free admission to all visitors on Veteran’s Day, November 11, in honor of all military personnel for their service to our country.
The Zoo would like to thank all men and women who have served bravely both in the United States and around the wo...rld. We invite all citizens to come out and celebrate Veteran’s Day at the Zoo in honor of those who have served our country. The Zoo grounds and buildings are open from 9a.m. to 5p.m., with the gates closing at 4:30p.m.

Topeka PD is attempting to identify two suspects who are believed to be involved in multiple felony theft cases. One of these thefts occurred at a local Topeka Wal-Mart store, where both suspects were caught on surveillance video. The 1st suspect is described as a white male in his forties with short hair and glasses. ...The 2nd suspect is a black male also in his forties wearing a red and blue jacket. Anyone who may know the identies of these two suspects are asked to call Crime Stoppers.

Topeka, Kansas SAFE Trick-or-Treat candies, courtesy of IAFF Local - 83 (Firefighters Union) and the Topeka Fire Department will be available to the general public on Halloween night Saturday, October 31, 2009; between the hours of 5:00pm – 8:00pm or until all the candies have been distributed. The candies will be available for pickup at all City of Topeka fire stations on a first come, first serve basis.
