What holds you back from doing the things you want to do?

Good morning. I would say for me it's mostly fear of failure. I have been working on that alot, and it is much better. I took the plunge and became a Realtor, but now I question every day if it was the right decision. So now I would say there is a fear that comes from indecision. Hmmmmm. Any thoughts from the group?

Thanks for your post Penny!
Have you ever noticed a difference in your body between indecision and being decisive? Where in your body do each of these live?

(Hi, I just got home)I have never thought about it precisely,,,but indecision lives in the same place that fear does...in the pit of my stomach. It's that awful agonizing drag on my body that seems to go on and on with no end in sight.. Being decisive gives me a happiness of heart...a feeling of lightness. But then if there is a lot of chaos at work, the question comes back in...."Did I make the right decision?" Apparently that shows on my face, because people ask me what is wrong?
That is a good time to use my sticky note on my computer of the "what if's" to the positive! Love them.

Good job Penny! Check in with your body to see where you are - decisive vs. indecision, and keep using the What Ifs to the Positive since they work well for you!

Hi - In answer to your original question, I would say that self doubt holds me back. Thinking i won't do something good enough or other 'fear comments' i make to myself (and end up believing) so that I don't even try.

Hi Anne Elise! I totally agree with you. I have had so many opportunites in life, but the 'fear comments' and self doubts held me back. I wanted to be a doctor, but fear of failing the MCAT's to get into medical school held me back. Never occured to me that I could always take them again. I sure miss being in the CYL teleclass with you. I always loved you comments. They were often just what I was thinking.

Hi Penny! Good to hear from you. Thanks for your comments. I'm getting better listening to my "freedom voice" rather than my "fear voice". Sometimes I have to make a concious effort to give freedom the microphone!

I love that part about the microphone, Anne Elise. I have never thought about freedom that way, but I think I will give it a try.

Hi Ladies,
So glad you are connecting! Ah, giving freedom the microphone - a cool analogy, and one to remember daily. :)
