Why isn’t your business growing? It’s a good question and one most home business owners face at one point or another. So, let’s take a look at the three reasons that could keep your business from going to the next level.

1. The marketing for your product or service isn’t clear. Your marketing needs clarity. Can you explain in 30 seconds what it is you do? If it’s hard to explain your business, then your potential partner or customer is going to be clueless to. You won’t sell much or anything or recruit others until you can articulate exactly what you can do for potential partners and customers.

2. Your marketing lacks consistency. Do you have a marketing plan? What about a budget? Do you follow up with customers, prospects, and partners? Developing a marketing plan is key. You must have one and daily actions are required.

3. Is your marketing congruent? What about your VIP customer plan? Do you even have one? Does it all fit together? What about your identity? Do you use the same slogans and sayings on all of your pieces of information? What if Nike decided to use “Get up and go for it” on their next advertising campaign. Doesn’t make much sense does it?

Lisa,

This is great information. I would like to add one more reason that would keep your business from growing (off the top of my head, as I know there are many more):

Lack of resources: You can't do everything yourself and you can't do any more. So you just can't grow your business any more. But how do you make the leap financially? I struggle with this every time I add another person to my team. But it is always worth it in the end!

MaryPat,

I joined today - kudos - Looking around the site - I am loving it and expect to be able to learn and share. Thank you for the time that you have spent on this group.

Your post truly touched me. Don't we all need more time?

I truly believe that you must make a decision about whether you will run your business or will your business run you, and then set about managing that decision.

A business that is system dependent is the answer. I do not know if you are in a MLM or own a private business. I am in a MLM and have owned several brick and mortar businesses. Use the system in place if with a MLM, create a system if you own a brick and mortar type business. The time spent either learning the system or building a system will be well spent. You might need to STOP long enough if you are a stand alone business - I do suggest enlisting the aid of some of your team members if a stand alone business.

You must have a system in place that grows a leader - not one that makes team members dependent upon you.

Duplication(recreating yourself) and a system makes life enjoyable. Financial freedom without time freedom is NO freedom.
