Welcome to our Avealmec group!

It's a pleasure to know you are here with us, and of course, to see you share the same interest for CALL, ICTs and language learning and teaching.

Let everybody know who you are, what you do and the role of CALL/ICTs in your daily praxis.

Lookiing forward to reading you all :)

Hi Everyone,

My name is Maria Pinto, but you can call me Mary. I have been teaching English for almost 18 years, and Spanish for 12. I am interested in CALL, ICT, ELT, and language learning. I taught at the University of Carabobo for 17 years, where I became crazy about ICT. My first Blended course (Blogging/Wiki/YG/Skype) was a great experience for me, I learned wonderful things from students; we shared in a different way enhancing the f2f learning activities; the students’ roles and activities also changed as they had greater independence and responsibility for their own work. These first moments are unforgettable!!! I have realized that the more you learn, the more you want to share.

This year I had the opportunity to participate in EVO 2009 session, and thanks to the excellent instructors, facilitators, and the other participants I got to be reborn in my second life, with more and more Web 2.0 tools to repaint my teaching practices.

Cheers,
Mary Pinto

Hi Evelyn. Thank you so much for inviting me to join AVEALMEC.
I think I joined it long time ago.
Is it a NEW Avealmec?
I see there is a very especial group. (Pure bigleagers)
I would like to know what are you planning to do.
I always join the groups but never participate.
I`d like you to give me a homework in order to participate doing something.
Warm hugs to all.
Horacio.

Hi Horacio!
Welcome home! This is a kind of WIA but in Venezuela. Feel free to share your knowledge on ICT with all Avealmec members in FB. As you might know, our association was legally created in 2007. To become a formal member there is a fee we have to pay anually, it is not that much, really. The membership has a renewal every year. Incomes allow us to move around the country to train English teachers in the ICT area or to organize events, like seminars or workshops, with an international guest. This group in Facebook is open for everybody, no fee required, just your willingness to share interesting and useful resources for all. But, if you want to get more involved with the association, and receive other benefits, just let us know through this FB group or contact our secretary Miguel Mendoza. He will send you all the information to become an actual member.

Hugs,
Evelyn
