Our new cable TV ad "Congratulations, President Obama. Please get FISA right" is premiering Inauguration Day on MSNBC, CNN, Fox News, and the Comedy Channel. How cool is that?
The video (and the in-progress media release) is at http://getfisaright.wordpr ess.com/2009/01/19/congrat ulations-president-obama-p lease-get-fisa-right/
If you’d like to congratulate President Obama, please leave a message in a comment either here or on the blog. If you want, you can also share your views with him and the new administration about FISA, the PATRIOT Act, and civil liberties. Please keep it down to a few sentences at the most (and link out to anything longer), and stay positive and on-topic. And if you’d like to congratulate other Get FISA Right members, this is a good place to do so as well. For an example, see http://tinyurl.com/8tyzpn ... we'll try to get the blog and Facebook threads to the Obama transition team.

President Obama: I send to you my congratulations. I have heard and reheard your Inauguration Address. I am responding to your invitation to be mature in our civic participation and I pledge to you that I will take up your challenge and as importantly communicate that challenge to the community where I live and work. May you be strengthed and supported by the Gracious and Loving God who has called you to this work.

President Obama: Congratulations. Your election in and of itself makes history, and the decisions that you have already made in structuring your administration bode well for the hope for real change.
The last 8 years has seen our country pay a terrible price in terms of civil liberties. Please make correcting this a top priority. To me, this means getting FISA right, forswearing immunity for telecoms and for the previous administration and restoring the primacy of the Rule of Law. As a Constitutional scholar, I believe you understand these issues. Do not let them be sacrificed to expediency.
Thank you,
With the deepest respect,
Jim Burrows

Dear President Obama,
Congratulations! Thank you for the action you have already taken to correct America's course. Please consider reinstating the integrity of our Constitution- repeal the Patriot Act, get FISA right, Habeas Corpus, and ensure a return of our civil liberties. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Che' Gilliland
