With the change to the new Page layout, facebook has been promoting that page updates and posts will be shown in the News Feeds of fans (unless they are turned off). I am a fan of several pages, and have seen some show up in both the News Feed and the separate Public Profiles feed. However, I am an admin for a page and none of our postings are showing up in my feeds or my friends' feeds. Please let me know if you've had this problem as well, and if you've discovered a reason as to why.

Thank you!

I've found that if cxl a site and then become a fan again those updates show up in my newsfeed. It seems only updates from sites I've become a fan of since the change are showing up in my newsfeed. Any site I was a fan before is not showing up? Is this supposed to happen? Is this just part of the process?

The only page updates that were showing for me were the ones from the NY Times. On my own page, I just removed myself from fans and put myself back (like Chris says) and now those updates show up.

This really has to be a bug. It doesn't make sense that only new fans would see the updates.

I just verified that I can once again see my desired feeds after leaving and rejoining....a MAJOR pain to ask all of the groups fans to do this.

You have got to be kidding me.... I do have the same problem, we have in face just found out only after we started running a contest - assuming that these news feed updates will show up in our page member... and the take up rate on the contest is much slower than expected and now we know why

like others, i am only getting NBA / NY Times updates, wondering if only big brands will get the news feed treatment!

Same problem. The only interesting change was the supposed ability to feed into fans streams. We've posted two updates already that NO ONE has gotten. Bad enough to impose across the board "improvements" regardless of individual user preferences/needs, REALLY bad when the "improvements" don't work!

I have the same issue - once I left our page and rejoined the updates show up in the feed.

There are several thousand people who were fans of our page before the "new" Facebook format - hopefully Facebook will allow them to get updates without having to resubscribe.

I'm having the same problem. No one is getting updates from my pages, and I am only getting updates from pages I have recently joined.

Hi everyone. Thanks for your input. Sounds like a big glitch. Hopefully it will be fixed soon! I can't ask our fans to de-fan and re-fan... afraid we'd lose too many.

I am also seeing this very frustrating problem, but I get the news feeds of a few pages without having joined (or dropping and rejoining) since the change. It's interesting that I DO get the news feeds from Facebook, but hardly anyone else. I think if it was not working correctly for Facebook, then this would be correctly very quickly. I hope that it will be changed soon for all of us "little guys" as well.

Having everyone drop and re-add is NOT an acceptable solution.

Please help, Facebook!

Yeah, removing myself as a fan then "re-fanning" worked for me, but not gonna ask my fans to do that... Thanks for posting this thread and thanks to those who provided info on the fix (which hopefully won't be required going forward)...

Okay I thought I was nuts I'm glad to see I'm not the only one. I CANNOT ask my 200+ fans to leave then come back....they won't come back! I'm having a hard enough time getting the 300 still stuck in our group to move over to our page.

Facebook will you be fixing this?????

Same problem here. I am the administrator for two pages and I am VERY frustrated that the newsfeeds aren't working after I've put so much time into redesigning the pages to fit the new format. We have over 2000 fans on one page and over 1500 on another so we can't ask them to "re-fan" us.

Ditto. Two pages - no updates. I'm not seeing much in the way of updates from other pages that I belong to either.

The public views of the pages in IE are still a mess.

The links app - which now at least is providing thumbnails and descriptions, seems like it is not reading some pages as it used to. Where I could link to a story on a blog that we run and have the first few lines of the story show up in the post, the app is now picking up headers on the page that it never did before.

What project methodology is FB following for this roll out??

Kaizen - continous change.
The result: users have to click around more, therefore see more advertisement, and therefore bring more money. ;-)

I find it sad that a company that created a site for people to connect with each other cannot even connect with their own users on their own discussion board.

Will someone ever drop us a note to clue us in on whether this is being looked at and will be corrected? I'd feel a bit better if someone at Facebook acknowledged that this is not working correctly.

I'm glad I found this thread. Kudos to those who discovered that "re-fanning" fixes this.

I encourage everyone to submit the issue to Facebook via this link:

http://www.facebook.com/help/contact.php?show_form=new_page_issue

Be sure to let them know that posts made by your page are propagated to NEW fans but not to fans that were there before the update.

I just tested and confirmed this bug as well. Submitted it to Facebook, too. Hopefully they'll get on it soonish.

I created a test page before the changes went live. Had someone un-fan, then re-fan the page. No updates.

Hi everyone! Thanks for posting your frustrations. I'm glad I'm not the only one. And I think I found a better solution than the de-fan, re-fan approach. At the bottom of your personal home page, there's a "show hidden friends" link. Click on that and it will give the option to see hidden friends or hidden pages. Once on the pages, you can add the page(s) that aren't showing up back into your feed. Best solution for now (unless facebook turns all pages on) might be to send a notice to your fans advising them how they can turn your updates back on. Hope this helps.

BINGO!

This is definitely what it is. i just checked and 4 of the pages that I am a fan of were also defaulted to hidden.

Now it would be amazing if Facebook could reverse this but I have a sinking feeling that they wouldn't be able to do this selectively. As in, I bet you that they would have to unhide ALL pages including ones that people have already gone out of their way to hide... which would make some people angry if they suddenly reappeared.

I really doubt many of our fans would really care enough to go though this process, especially since 1) They would most likely NOT know what they heck we were talking about, and 2) Sending an "UPDATE" never gets out to anyone, since barely anyone cheks their update tab, in my experience.

OK, I just sent an extra update to Facebook via this form that I mentioned earlier:

I hope they take notice and are able to fix this. I really want our fans' eyes!

Wow, this is really and outrageous mistake (or decision??) by the FB folks. Here I am trying to get on the new FB bandwagon and make the best of the features they've changed on us, and my fans aren't even seeing a thing! I think it is highly suspicious that the high profile brands like NY Times were NOT automatically hidden for existing fans -- this smacks of Facebook stepping on the little guy.

Now I have to find someway to get all of my fans to go through the trouble of unhiding my brand from their feed, or else these "great new features" will be utterly useless to my brand.

Facebook, you NEED to fix this. It is a major disservice to the brands who have been trying to bring their content (and users) to your service.

I have suspected that the problem is some IE issue, so I downloaded Firefox and indeed with Firefox unhiding friends and pages works like magic.
