I think that he is alive and will be in the third film. I mean there was way too much build up just to have him in the movie for half an hour and then kill him. He was probably unconsious and has been put into Arkham.

Any ideas?

nah.. he's dead.
his death was to show that batman was the real hero by taking the blame for what 2 face had done.. it was important to the story.
i dont think it would make sence to bring him back.. there will most likely be a new bad guy for the next movie.

He is indeed ALIVE. He's hiding out with Dumbledore, Tupac, JFK, and Elvis, all of whom are also ALIVE.

Honestly, I think he died, and the Joker will be in the next film.

It'd be kind of odd on the filmmaker's part to include both of the same villains that were in the previous movie in the next one.

It just left us with the Joker dangling. It showed Harvey fall, and go splat. More likely he's dead, huh?

Of course, I don't know what the actors have been saying, or how could POSSIBLY replace Heath Ledger as the Joker, but merely an assumption.

But Batman took the same fall. And maybe, because of Heath's death, Two Face is going to kill the Joker in the net film after Batman and Gordon talked to him at the end.

Except Batman didn't take the same fall and he's kind of a well-trained master martial artist in body armor and Dent was an average guy who had just escaped from the hospital after the getting the hell blown out of him.

Re-watch the movie and you will note that Batman's fall was broken by several pieces of wood and he hung from the ledge before dropping. Two-Face was just pushed and 3/4 of the time people who are pushed from a distance over 12 feet die... maybe it was 10 but either way Dent fell far enough.

You are correct! I would have to agree, but still think that he is alive.

well 12' isnt really a big drop, i know ive fallen from 8' and walked away with a limp and a badley bruised leg for a month, and have friends whom have fallen 15 feet.
falling from that height would require landing on your head to die, 20 + feet is more likely

chances are two face was merely unconscious

Depends on what you land on. Chances are the guys who fell 15 feet either jumped into the fall or landed on their feet and hands. IIRC, Two-Face landed on his back after being pushed, which would definitely screw up his back and some internal organs at the least. Also, the novelization and script said he died, and I think we can trust them.

I don't understand when people say that Harvey Dent is dead, but Two-Face is alive. They're both the same person. They only proclaimed Dent dead because they didn't want anyone to know that he was also Two-Face.

Also, Batman was shot in the stomach and fell from that distance, Two-Face was merely pushed off.

I think that if Batman could have survived that fall, then why not Two-Face?

Just because there was too much "build up" for him doesn't mean that he still couldn't die. You're not looking at the realistic aspect that Christopher Nolan does in his movies. No one is invisible, even if they are a hero or a villain.

But, I'm kind of not really sure what happened to Two-Face/Harvey Dent. Could be dead, could be alive. I guess since he didn't bounce back like Batman did, everyone assumes he dead.

If you think Two-Face is alive, you are an idiot. For those that say Two-Face is alive and Dent is dead, I have a question: How are you dumbasses intelligent enough to breathe? I have absolutely no idea how anyone could possibly become so stupid. Didn't evolution get rid of you people? My head spins just trying to get into the mind of someone so irredeemably retarded.

To clear this up for those of you who are stupid: Two-Face is dead. The script said it. The novel said it. Nolan said it. Eckhart said it. HE IS DEAD.

He fell 3 stories and DID NOT MOVE. 3 stories = 30 feet. You even see the funeral service.

He's dead. Get over it.

He is alive because he needs to beat up Robin (Richard "Dick" Grayson) even though Christine Bale won't work with a kid to play Robin when Robin is really a freshmen when Harvey Two-Face Dent beats him up and it isn't really his father's lucky coin. It is Sal Maroni's lucky coin. I am huge Batman fan. So he fell that far down so do a lot villains like the Joker and live. That is how DC does it. Two-Face does become Harvey again but not for a long time.

Dead. We don't want him to be dead, but he is. He wouldn't work as a regular villain anyway because of the way his creation is portrayed in TDK. He only does what he does as revenge for Rachel's death. In the comics, he becomes a gangster and mob leader. That wouldn't work at all in Nolan's movies. His death was perfect for these movies. So, he is dead. If there is to be a third, there are plenty of villains Goyer and Nolan can use. Apparently, Goyer's already got an idea for a movie theme as well as a villain and a direction for a third movie. Its up to Nolan now whether or not he's up for a third.

Regardless, Harvey Dent, Two Face, and the two of them together are DEAD.
