I don't know about anyone else, but there are some weird things that make me lose. They are just triggers that always remind me of the game, even though they have NOTHING to do with it. Dragonflies is one of them ... don't ask me why. And the other thing is April Fool's Day. There is a story behind that one, but it's long so I won't get into it.

Here's some things from the old LoseTheGame.com forum:

denny's and fedex trucks.
The worst is when you're playing a board game or something, and when you win you exclaim "YES! I WIN! CRAP! I LOSE! But I win this game."
Of course, Rob Gorish always makes me lose as well.
The techies at Sprague High School. Trillian. Myspace. et cetera
Bananas.
Strangly enough... music/songs. Because the people I play with on vent say they lost the game in a rythmic fassion...
ducks...the people who intoduced the game to me have a friend whose sister-in-law's bathroom is decorated with ducks. and now, if anyone quacks or if i see a duck, i automatically lose.
The phrase "Damn you" (as in "I just lost, the game" "Damn you")
"*"click*" We were discussing keeing track of losses with one of those pocket counters, like in the Lynx "Click" adverts
The presence of various people I know who play the game
Steven Gerrard
Anytime I remember, or realise i've forgotten something
the word 'the' on its own.
seeing a wasp, or a bee (mostly leading to discussing opinions of wasps, bees, and the game.) Don't ask just how we got /that/ link!
The word 'aardvark'. For some strange reason.
I just lost The Game while reading the Wikipedia article on Wikipedia, got triggered by recursiveness.
Traffic lights make me lose the game.
The red is like my memory is stopped and not thinking about the Game
The yellow is like when I am starting to remember
and the green is like when I am like, crap, I lost
TRAFFIC LIGHTS TRAFFIC LIGHTS TRAFFIC LIGHTS!
Chicken. We were watching the "Leeroy Jenkins" WoW video when I lost the game right at the end when he says, "at least I have chicken." Ever since then chicken will trigger it.
Being around/thinking about people who lose the game a lot
The word "game" or "lost" or "won/win" or "remember" or really anything to do with memory
The word "squareular," which is very random and not even a word, but my friend and I made up this word and then simultaneously lost the game right after simultaneously remembering the word...so now we associate the game with the word "squareular" (which, by the way, is a combination of "square" and "circular," used to describe a square with curved corners)

Some more from the forum:

The phrase 'DAMN YOU!' always causes people in our Chatroom to lose the game, since this is the standard phrase I use to indicate I have lost.
my friends decided to make my other friend lose on the trigger of 'breasts' so now anything to do with breasts, or a random 'groping' motion in midair.
enjoy losing during sex, guys.
Lost: The Game
Computer games that say "You Lose!" or "Loser!"
Discussions about thought or memory

Also ducks, hockey, pretty much any of my game-playing friends, any mention of animatronic sheep and a whole bunch of injokes from the university society I'm in that has taken over my life.
I suggested to a friend that when he saw spinners (car wheels) that he would lose the game. Crap! now I lose when I see them.
Adam Hollock. He brought the game to Crestwood High school and now single-handedly forces everyone to lose. He says 'game' at random intervals, walks up to people and says 'what do you ascosiate with me' or just stand silently in your way in the hall until you lose the game, which happens to be quite quckly.
Ice water. I was drinking it when I first came to this site.
While eating dinner one night with my 2 roommates, in my 4th year of college --- i was trying to do my best imitation of the "Saturday Night Live" character, Drunk Girl.

sooo, thenceforth anything having to do with drag queens, cats, Robin Williams (linked thanks to his skit about cats being innate drag queens), and Frankenstein (linked because i did a Frankenstein play, and would always laugh about Robin Williams broadway special backstage), or Credence Clearwater Revival instantly causes me to lose.
also Eminem. not sure why though.
BUT. . . . from now on --- anytime any of you hear a comment referrencing Whitney Houston and "Crack is Whack", you will also Lose The Game.
Any discussion pertaining to human memory or metacognition now causes me to lose the game

The word "game"
My own previous losses! When I post my loss on an online forum or similar, and then later revisit, read my own post, and LOSE THE GAME

So far my room and everything in it, anything to do with the internet, my friends because I told them about it, thinking about nature and the human mind, and everything that I think about is related to The Game somehow. But i'm getting better at thinking about The Game without realizing it.
Pickles! Of course Mugglecast is the reason, their catch phrase is pickles.
Anything connected with the concepts of winning or losing

Being around certain people
The word "game"
The name "Sen"

Things that make me lose:
*Seeing anyone I've ever informed about "The Game."
*Hearing (or thinking) the phrase "That's what she said..."
*Thinking about something that crossed my mind previously
*Dreaming (yes, last night I dreamt, amongst other things, that I lost The Game)
*Thinking about any other dream I've had, which automatically leads me to thinking about "The Game" dream.
*Looking at a clock
*Purple Post-It notes
*Signing onto AIM... because one of my friends always leaves the final words of his profile as "The..." and another friend's buddy icon says "Don't Lose The..."
*Asking someone/being asked what time it is
*Hearing someone talk about a game (sports/video/board, etc.)
*Playing cards, especially Euchre
*Studying / Going to Calculus Class
*Hearing either "integral" or "derivative"
*Playing/Listening to Pilatus- Mountain of Dragons, by Steven Reineke (A friend wrote "The Game" above measure 163 of my copy last week, and now I've lost it there ever since).
*Retracing my steps (to find something), because I always remember the last time I lost, which makes me lose once more.
*Letting my mind wander- some how I always end up thinking: "It's been a while since I've lost The Game."
*Logging onto Facebook, because this group's updates appear on my Facebook homepage.
*Seeing a $2 bill

That's pretty much all that I can think of, lol

I hope you aren't as badly conditioned as I am, to lose The Game after any of the above situations.

It's actually kinda cool how I lose. I go to school with a awesome group of friends and most of them play the game. Basically whenever we are together we lose. It may sound like a terrible thing, but actually we have some awesome memories when we lose.

Things I lose to:
*Arrested Development
*groaning
*snipers
*spring break
*memories
*trying to remember something
*twitching
*a french painter called Gustav Courbet (I don't recommend his art)
*associations
*facebook
*my blog
*awkward silence
*math

I lose in simple ways.
1. Seeing the soul-consuming FedEx "arrow"
2. AUSTIN?
3. Someone else exclaiming their loss of said game

Anything and everything. Weirdest one is the song "Now I Have Everything" from Fiddler on the Roof, since one of the most epic losses I've ever seen involved a friend who was playing Perchik losing because one of his friends held a sign saying "The Game" up from the audience in the middle of the song. He managed to finish and then came backstage and swore for about ten minutes solid. That was also my introduction to the game.

Also seeing or mentioning any one of my friends who play, the phrase "you lose", and the other game two of my friends play which involves sneaking up behind the other person and saying "bang you're dead" while pointing at them as if you're holding a gun.

Anything awkward. Whenever I think "Oh, that's awkward" I lose the game. Anything computer related, such as AIM or facebook. Also, any friends who know about the game. When I think of them, I lose.

Basically, I "officially" lose every single grace period.

Haha, There are some amazing triggers. Some of my triggers are

repeatedly saying ketchup
Daterape ( DR in the presence of minors )
Groping
1,2,3 Not it
I won
Seeing people that refuse to play the game
Chapel ( We now have the rule that we can't play the game during chapel.. my pastor got mad when twenty of us shouted I LOST in the middle of it )
DC ( don't ask )
there are more, I just can't think of them until they trigger I Lost.
and seeing as I posted. I lost
