Our official policy at Busted Halo, is that if Catholicism was easy you wouldn't have a busted halo in the first place.

So we know as well as anyone that the daily Fast-Pray & Give of our Lenten Calendar ( http://www.bustedhalo.com/features/fast-pray-give/ ) is going to be a challenge for all of us. That's why the Lenten Slip-Support Station is here to help!!!!!!

Come here to vent, celebrate, and share you successes & challenges as you join in our daily Fast-Pray-Give. We'll be here to offer words of support advice and kudos, as well as to vent our own frustrations about keeping up with the spiritual challenge of self sacrifice. We know we'll need your support!

Just because you slip on one day of Lent does not mean all is lost. Our Lenten calendar has a new set of Fast, Pray, Give suggestions every day, so if you slip up one day, don’t give up; simply pick up again the next day with a new Fast, Pray, Give.

Good Luck, God Bless, and come back often to our Slip Support Station to offer personal Lenten slip stories and offer support to all of us as we Fast-Pray-Give our way through the 40 days of Lent!

OK--last night I had two major disasters in my house and didn't get to dinner until 5 minutes before midnight---so dinner was more like a snack. Fasting today is going to be tough. I'm already considering a second bowl of cereal!

I need to make a Lenten commitment to start looking at the calendar before I do anything - waking up & saying it's too nice out to be stuck in an office is only complaining a little right?

I gave up arguing for Lent, but last night in a class I'm taking, I started one one purpose just because I love doing it so much. Oops. Time for a do-over.

I lost my wallet on the day that I had to fast from anger! I spent the day enraged and then woke up and realized how dumb it was to be that upset, Later I found the wallet and really felt stupid. Oh well... start over tomorrow fully awakened to what my weakness is.

I want everyone to know that I have not had ONE DROP of hot sauce since Lent began. It has not been easy. I almost folded at the burrito shop, but then turned and ran away from the temptation. which of course was weired for everyone else there.

Heard about this on the radio show last night (which I'm addicted to). Fell of the wagon myself Sunday with a HUGE piece of cake. C'mon Fr. Dave, Sundays don't count!!! Kidding. :) I'm firmly planted on the wagon...for now.

If you make the cookies yourself, and use apricots instead of chocolate chips... does it still count as junk food?

I've slipped a couple times in my Lenten resolution to stop cursing :(

Good luck everyone!

April--I suppose that depends on what the cookies are made out of?

Unrelated to Lent, I began an eating plan to test for food sensitivities, which normally go undetected in a food allergy test. Since the Monday before Lent began, I have stopped eating all foods made with wheat, dairy, corn, sugar, soy, eggs and peanuts. Clearly this includes chocolate, so essentially I could not fast from any other foods! I decided for Lent I would increase my prayer time, saying the Rosary each day, and also doing 4 novenas consecutively. Well, I certainly gave myself plenty to slip up about! I'm having a lot of trouble praying that much; and learned I should have started smaller. It's all a work in progress. Thanks for the support, though! Blessings to everyone!

@ Catherine- wow that sounds rough...If you're already giving seemingly all foods up - I would have cut myself a break - very ambitions Lenten commitments I can't blame you for slipping- don't give up though- everyday is a new day.

I've been slipping on and off for most of lent, so today I'm recommitting. Off to daily mass.

I always begin Lent so well - I tend to give up/commit to do many things just because... well... I do.

I guess it's no surprise that I fell down and stayed there for a few days.

But I'm back in the sand of my desert, putting one foot in front of the other. Reconciliation last night was awesome, as always. Emotional, refreshing, energizing.

Lord, bless us - inspire us - be with us always.

Don't really know if this is a slip-up...

I gave up alcohol for Lent- pretty ambitious for a 21-year-old if I can say so myself :) As this past Tuesday was St. Patrick's Day (AND during Spring Break), a friend who also gave up alcohol and I decided that one Guinness was in line. Other than that, I have been doing great- definitely looking forward to a beer on Easter!

My plan this Lent has been to take better care of myself, sort of a half-stewardship half self-discipline exercise. I was going strong at first, getting enough sleep - a big challenge for me, I'm perpetually sleep deprived and it's usually my own fault! - eating pretty well, I even exercised a couple of times. But the last week or so I've definitely run out of penitential steam. I think I'll go take a nap.

Today for lunch, I had a Fish Sandwich and a banana milkshake.
For dinner, I had a tuna sandwhich,
and with that for dinner I had some chips, ...
and then I saw on the Lenten Fast-Prayer-Give Calandar, that we were suppose to fast some foods like chips... Oops! I slipped. But, at least I had NO meat!

Hope all your lent is going well!
