    When I went on the site, no one had donated yet, so I went ahead and made my donation. By the time I finished 30 seconds later, 4 people had donated $100 between them. This could be really big!

    it's nice to think of it this way: one could either buy a wackass facebook valentine's gift for $1, which is totally demonstrative of the kind of inane inaction this website breeds, or defy the x generation stereotype of apathy, political and otherwise, and do something a little bit more, um, special and lovely and indicative of a soul.     in terms of keeping the link accessible, i sent farouk, the creator and admin of this group, a message about trying to make the link more prominent. i suggested he put it as a link in the "recent news" section or even in the description of the group. i also requested he email the entire group with the announcement as well. i think this idea that you came up with is really great and important, but i'm also worried that the link (and thought) will get lost in all the other discussions.

    We can also include the link somewhere in our own profiles, so other people have access to the information. More people might be inclined to join the group if they see we are actually being active instead of vaguely showing support.

    To answer your question...I think others may have done what I did. I gave $75.00 after Obama's speech. I clicked the donate button on the home page. I will make all future donations from this sight.

    I just donated $20. I've been thinking about donating money for a while now and this is a great way to show the power of the young voter. $100,000 is definitely an attainable goal, lets do it.
