We are just about started with this applications & we have a lot of things we would want to do like ratings, tags, importing booklists, to name a few...
but we want to add features that YOU want.

So tell us, which feature do you want & we'll try & be the genie & build that feature out...

My friends can list the books they have and there should be a link with all my "Wanna Read" books, which tells me from whom (in my friends, who have it and not "Reading it"), I can borrow it.

- Ability to search some book in "My Reads" list. It will be helpful in case I have 100+ books.

- Clicking a link associated with a book in search results, I should find out which my friends have read it. It will help me get their recommendations.

Ability to list out books, which I no longer want to keep and would love to exchange with other books, my friends (or friends of friends) may want to dispose.

any way to rate the books, or write short (a few sentences) reviews? for example, i've READ a lot of very bad books, yet they appear right next to the great ones i've read with no way to distinguish between the two.

also, there should be a way to distinguish between books i've read and books that i OWN (since sometimes i read other people's copies, or give books away when i'm done).

It would be nice if i could select the 5 books that iRead shows on my facebook profile. For example, i want only the books that i'm "reading" or "wanna read" to appear on my profile.

thanks

Hi there. I would like to see the Amazon associate program integrated into this app. If people or my friends click through and buy a book eventually, I want to be recognized for that and get some percentage out of it.

What do you think?

Emre.

I second the suggestion to switch status from wanna read to reading and so on.

Also, could be good to replicate the friends block on the profile, only with covers of books and ratings; that is, it would be cool to have your books listed in a grid view with star ratings. Alternatively, it might be better to mark books as "favorites" rather than rating them 1-5.

I would really like to be able to import from librarything.com as thats the similar app I use...

I agree with the suggestions that we should be able to change the status of a particular book...
Also, it might be handy to be able to drag and drop particular titles so that our most recently read books show up first (i.e. in our profile list).
Otherwise, I think this application is great!

If you've seen the flixter application, I think it'd be cool to have it more like that, or at least, the features I like are to have your own small profile which lists your reviews, ratings, what you want to read, reading, or have read. Maybe also a button of 'don't wanna read it'. Hmm.. I'm not sure.

Plus, on the application on the profiles, I suggest adding a small icon of the book cover next to the book title.. makes it more interesting that way, attention-getting. :)

it'd be really nice if when you are searching for books, you could check boxes next to books that you've read or wanna read or are reading and then click one of the buttons. this way you could add books to your list MUCH more quickly. right now, its really slow, because you have to add it to your list, and then hit back to go back to your search, and its just not efficient at all. otherwise, i really like this app! thanks :)

It would be good to have the books more organized when listed. I can't seem to find any system that the books are being organized with at the present time. Alphabetical by author's last name or even book title would be good.

As well, I think that the books should be grouped according to it's status (i.e. Reading It, Read It, Wanna Read). And then also, if a book moves from Reading It to Read It or Wanna Read to Reading It, it should be easier to switch the status of the book.

Great idea lads, linking into amazon makes sense too. Although it does limit your selection to books that amazon has for sale - books that are out of print or from other countries are harder to track down. Rating and comments would be great too. Cheers.

Perhaps have three tabs on the app in our profiles: read, want to read, reading, and then someone looking at our profile can go through them that way, you can have more on the page, and it keeps things more organized.

Also, moving items on the list and being able to select multiple books to add using a check box system (as have been mentioned before) would be awesome. For those of us who have read many books by one author, it makes things much quicker and simpler.

On the box on my profile, part of the book title, and the entire cover, is cut off from view-- it's like the left section of the box got cut off. This happens no matter where the box is put in my profile. Any idea what's wrong?

They appear fine for me.
Is it on your left column (the narrow column)?

Hi Richard,

We just added checkboxes on the search pages - so now you can add multiple books from the search page.

Thanks for the great ideas.
Keep them coming.

Am I the only person that rereads? Some books are just worth it. It would be awesome if we had the ability to choose that we are "Rereading It" instead of just "Reading It".

I agree, Have it and Read it are two different things, and it would be awesome to correlate it so if I wanna read and one of my friends Has it I can ask to borrow it, and then it will say on their page "lent to".

When I change a book from wanna read to Reading it, it should tell me which of my friends have read, who is reading and who wanna read.

This suggestion may be a little far fetched but I'll mention it anyway, it would be sweet if there was a way to set up links to a group for a discussion board or to find a way to integrate it into a book club group where the admin to the book club group would change the "reading it" book and it would change on my profile that my book club is reading that particular book that way if I haven't checked out the book club group page in a while I will still be aware if they have started a new book.

I assume you're importing or searching amazon and thats how you get the info for the books. however this gives a huge number of results that are basically the same (because of different editions and such). it would be better for ratings, seeing who has the book, etc. if you could somehow consolidate this so there's only one entry for each book (i know it won't be easy).

and another problem is that graphic novels (like sin city) come up but while completely awesome (i am a comic book nerd), these really don't belong on this application.

It would be nice if there was some form of rating, for example, read it and loved it, read it and wasn't impressed, et cetera...

Also, I agree that we should be able to import from librarything.com

I like Richard's idea of multiple tabs separate reading, read, and want to read. It would be like the Netflix app where people can see my 'at home' movies as well as those in my queue.
