    Guide Dogs Victoria has a new dog. He's a little bigger than the others (ok a LOT bigger!) and he needs a name! Check out the photos of our new mascot in the photo albums and tell us what you think he should be called.

    How about Victor??
    Its a Victory when people donate to Guide Dogs Victoria...it means people like myself with low vision or blindness can live independently! Everyone's a winner!

    What about Alexander (not being bias but more going for the meaning...). It means helper or protector of man.

    Or either Guido or Wyatt that both mean guide - very relevant!

    P.S Although we've referred to the dog as a 'he' at the moment, female names will also be considered!

    I don't know any but what about seeing if you can get an anagram of Guide Dogs Victoria of just Guide Dogs. If this doesn't really appeal what about someone who made real significance in the program like Arnold after Arnold Cook?

    Wylie, it means faithful, loyal, wild, free, coy and clever. The dogs are certainly loyal, faithful and clever, some are quite coy and wild too and they give their handlers Freedom.

    Well the name has been decided...

    Guido the Guide Dog has been selected!

    Thanks Alex Tweedie for helping us out with that suggestion. We will look at getting him a t-shirt printed to wear at events so you may see him out and about soon.
