Would “lifting bans” on mobile devices positively impact learning?

Students want “real world” opportunities, but find a restricted digital environment limits that potential at school. Would “lifting the ban” on mobile devices have a positive impact on teaching and learning?

Yes, the learning environment would more authentically mirror society and technology outside of school. Students would be more engaged which will positively impact learning.

We have found this overwhelmingly in all our speak up results.. the kids are fully immersed in tech outside of school but enter the classroom, they step back in time... we have recognised this at our school and have an ipod use policy .. suddenly the kids are able to share podcasts, apps etc. Learning has become more engaging and in their words "easier"
