This thread is only for members to tell us if they hold a special status at the con.
We need to know which members are artists, writers, editors, dealers (store owners), reporters... or hold any other professional position in the comics.
Members holding such status are asked to post it here and indicate the company of professional intimation. Such as where this professional work is done. Which publisher, store or news site or blog.
Other posts will be removed from here in order to keep this manageable. Con attendance is growing very quickly. Your help in keeping things organized is appreciated.

Hello Michael, and all;
In the comics field I'm primarily a penciler (have also inked and colored) but I call myself a freelance illustrator. I work for myself as president of Giant Squid Studio Inc., and my work has been published by Marvel, Malibu, Brainstorm, Heroic Publishing and Heavy Metal Magazine.

You draw it, I'll sell it.
Or sit in my office tooling around on FB while the guys sell it. It's all good.

I'm the writer/creator of DARK 48 published by Digital Webbing. I'm also the writer/creator of TIGER WRAITH which was published back in 1998 by Mammoth Press. The newest incarnation of the character appeared in the comic book BloodRayne: Dark Soul. I was also the writer of BloodRayne for several issues - published via the Digital Webbing imprint line.

Not currently doing work. Worked in comics for 10 years, about 8 of that for Wildstorm, doing mostly inks. I joined the studio as they were finishing up their run on the X-Men titles.

Here is the standard bio -
Mark Wheatley is an award winning creator of radical comic books. Preferring the title, "Graphic Novelist," he is respected internationally as an artist, writer, editor, publisher and inventor. Noted for comics with heart and integrity, he holds the Inkpot, Mucker, Gem, Speakeasy and Eisner awards and his projects have been nominated for the Harvey award, and the Ignatz award. His work has been repeatedly included in the annual Spectrum selection of fantastic art and has appeared in private gallery shows as well as the Library of Congress where several of his originals are in the LoC permanent collection. His comic book creations include Mars, Breathtaker, Black Hood, Prince Nightmare, Hammer of the Gods, Blood of the Innocent, Radical Dreamer, Frankenstein Mobster, Miles the Monster, The Mighty Motor-Sapiens, EZ Street, Lone Justice and Titanic Tales. His interpretations of established characters such as Tarzan the Warrior, The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, Jonny Quest, Dr. Strange, The Flash, Argus and seminal pulp hero The Spider have brought them to life for a new generation of readers. Not content to simply create the contents of comics, Mark has worked as an editor and art director for a number of publishers and is the inventor of color production technology for comics. He established the highly respected Insight Studios in 1978 as a home base for a team of talented comic creators. Insight Studios is the subject of an "insightful" coffee table style art book; IS ART: the Art of Insight Studios. In other fields he has written for TV, illustrated elaborate hardback novels, designed cutting-edge role-playing games and was an early innovator of the on-line daily comic strip form. Several of his projects have been optioned for motion pictures. In 2006 Mark was a guest lecturer on Storytelling in the Arts at the Library of Congress. In 2007 through May 2008 some of Mark's art and script for the ground breaking Breathtaker graphic novel was on view at the Norman Rockwell Museum. Mark lectured at the NORMAN ROCKWELL MUSEUM in May of 2008.

I am president of a new film and television studio that is about to grow to include a publishing company offering comic books, magazines, graphic novels and novels all entirely dedicated specifically to SciFi and Fantasy.
Since all that crap won't fit, you can just put President of Syzygy Studios.

Um...
I used to have a shop.
I used to write a pretty popular comicbook web column (it got me above the fold on google).
I help the Mikes with the running of the UK Expo and Eagle awards. Helped out with the running of a Dreddcon a while back.
I've done a bit of smallpress work as a writer of or for: Dogbreath (various), other anthology work, Angela (Pantomime Press), The Return of Magic (Pantomime Press), Jack Danger... and have scripts sat with several artists awaiting (for 3 or more years now in some cases) finishing (NQT, The End of Man) and some other bits and bobs here and there.

I'm sometimes considered the King of Indie Animation and the only person to hand draw an entire animated feature film.
I began my career creating cartoons for publications such as New York Times, National Lampoon, Playboy and Screw.
In 1987 I was nominated for an Oscar® for my animated short "Your Face". In 2005, I received another Oscar® nomination, this time for my short film "Guard Dog". "Push Comes to Shove" another short film, won the prestigious Cannes 1991 Palme d'Or.
After producing many shorts that appeared on MTV and Spike and Mike's, I turned my talent to feature films. Since 1991 I've made 9 feature films, 6 of them, "The Tune", "Mondo Plympton", "I Married A Strange Person", "Mutant Aliens", "Hair High" and "Idiots and Angels" are all animated features.

I'm co-host of the Comic Book Page family of Podcasts. My co-host & I have each been reading comics for over 30 years and read in excess of 100 titles a month, mixed between Marvel, DC, and many many Indie publishers.
Each week, on Weekly Comics Spotlight, we review 3 recent comics: 1 DC, 1 Marvel, 1 Indie.
Every month we cover what we (and several other Podcasters and fans) are excited about from the current Previews catalog on our Previews Spotlight episode (as well as spotlighting interviews with creators about upcoming projects in the current previews). Our goal here is to raise awareness about comics when they are available for order so fans will ask their LCS to order them and make sure they are on the shelf when they come out.
We discuss the top 300 comics & trades sales numbers from Diamond once a month on the Mayo Report episodes (co-host John Mayo also does a column on this topic a tthe Comic Book Resources web-site).
We also occasionally delve into classic storylines on our Back Issue Spotlight episodes.
