I will admit to eating thousands of pizzas in my time. But only once have I said that was less than great. Don't get me wrong I ate the whole thing! It just wasn't that good.

You have to be careful with too much oily cheese, such as Pizza Hut's 3-cheese blend. It's fantastic for the first slice or two but it gets very greasy as it goes cold to the point of sickness!

Only then do you have a bad pizza - too much grease.

I have to say, I've nevr eaten a pizza as bad as you tell me, but some pizzas with mozzarella that hasn't melted properly and is sitting in lumps can get seriously gross. Also pizzas that aren't well baked are not cool ... =s

I once ordered from a place that must have run out of cheese. It was made with processed cheese slices. Now that was a bad pizza

Yeah, there is bad pizza. I've had some pretty awful pizza, e.g.,
thick chewy dough, not enough cheese, not enough sauce, not
enough pepperoni. A great pizza is hard to find in L.A. The Best
Pizzas I've had include:

Regina's Pizzeria, Boston, Mass. (north end);
Passatempo, Berlin, Germany
Giovanni's, Mammoth Lakes, Calif.
D'Amore's, Los Angeles, Calif

It starts with the crust. If they screw that up, forget the rest.
An epic pizza will knock your socks off, though, and is
worth its weight in calories. A Great Pizza is one of life's
small pleasures. Bad pizza gives pizza a bad name.

I agree with you Pizza. I can't remember ever having pizza that I really disliked.

IMO, most frozen pizzas are bad.

Making a good pizza is not very complicated, the most important is the freshness and quality of ingredients, if you use cheap cheese, pepperoni and tomatos you will never make a tasty pizza.

Apparently the 'water' also makes a tremendous difference.
The water in L.A. is fine for drinking but does not make for
great pizza. I understand that the water on the east coast, esp. in
NYC and Boston, is responsible for the tasty crusts ! I also
know of one small chain in so. calif. that imports bottled
water from Boston to solve the water/crust dilemma.

Here in Montreal, a lot of pizzerias add a can of 7-up in their dough mix.

once my utmost love 4 pizza took me 2 buy pizza frm a stupid shop..trust me it ws xyz......so hot n so oily n wat nt...xcept 4 that i've never eaten a piece i dislyked...
pizzas r heaven...if its nt hot as that nytmare pizza all pizzas, whereev n whev they r totaly awsome...

even bakery pizza with no cheese isn't terrible.

I agree with the "it's like bad sex" analogy. Or it's also like only doubleing your money at the casino. How about tomato sauce on a piece of toast with government cheese? That's ghetto fabulous pizza!<---use only for emergencies!
