Will Frank Mitchell ever return? When will Martin get out of prison? What will Dot do about Jim's female "friend"? How will Pauline survive without both sons? What about Pauline's dear friend Derrick, he is gay you know, will he find happiness? What happened to Lisa????? (I have a feeling she will return) Is Kat actually going to go through with the pregnancy? Pat's earrings, yeah or nay? Poor Barry, what's he to do with his filandering wife? What's Sonya to do without Jaime? (She won't turn into a Lesbian will she ;-) What will happen with Robbie and Nita, is she going to India? Will Lynne survive at the caff with Laura Beale in charge? What about Ian Beale, has he turned back into the jerk that he once was before bankruptcy? Oh we could go on and on.....

I've been watching EastEnders from the very first episode in the U.S.! I love it! Kat lost the baby. Pat's earrings are gr8! Jaime should not have died -- so sad! Robbie and Nita have left for India, but where's the dog? I can't stand Michelle's American daughter -- what a spoiled brat! I wish Michelle would have come back instead of her daughter. Will Den ever return? I don't think he's dead. I loved Simon -- wish he would return.

Hi Bobbie,
I've been watching Eastenders probably about two years or so, but I used to go to London a lot and have seen newer episodes there, so I know what happens to a lot of people. Why is it they can never take charge of that dog!!! I'm sure he'll return....Gus is a kind-hearted person, but not that bright. (Slightly smarter than Sonia!) I don't know too much about the Florida gang (Michell's daughter...Vicki and Pauline's connection to them all). You're right Vicki is spoiled. It's funny hearing an American accent on the show! I think Dot and Jim are hilarious....almost cartoonish at times. I guess Peggy's probably one of my favorite characters....I love it when she tells someone to "Get outta my pub!!!" Also, even though he's a jerk I enjoy Phil being the bully of the square. I miss having EE on every week night. Two episodes a week is killing me! Oh well, at least it's back on.

I'm an EastEnders fan and didn't want to join Facebook; but here I am. I don't know if this is working. Yes--what happened to Lisa??? Dan Sullivan's coming back, and maybe he's bringing Lisa with him. Sleeping with the mob again perhaps. Her type--dark and dangerous. Unless, that is she has donned a sister's habit and is tending to Mark in hospital? Yes, again--where is "Will-ard"? I miss the dog.

More practice for me. Below is a copy of the message I left on KBDI's Viewer Buzz--before I waffled on my firm decision to NOT join Facebook. I reserve the right to be unreliable and repetitive.
"Well, I'm glad the EastEnders message board is up, but I won't be participating because I don't want to join Facebook. So I'll just have fun watching all my fellow EastEnders fans' postings instead. How's this for a topic, however--Have you noticed how many long-time characters have left the show in the past few months? Did all the actors go on vacation at the same time? Medical crisis?--Headline: "Swine Flu Attacks the EastEnd!" Did they all find a better acting gig at the same time? Or--my suspicion--is some younger (and malevolent) clutch of writers trying to get rid of interesting wrinkled characters and trying to sex up the neighborhood? In response to one message posting on the new board--I don't like the brattiness of Sharon's half sister either, but it was amusing to hear the actress slip up on her "American" usage when she wanted the present Sharon had for her and said "Give it me!" Oops!--slip of the tongue for nothingk but a bunch of pictures of Daddy Dearest Den."

NothingK glad you joined up! I didn't really want to join Facebook either, but oh well. I think Lisa will be returning, but not sure what happened to her or what Phil did. I have sneaked a peak at future episodes and know a little (but won't repeat them here!!!) You can find that on the BBC's web site. (Cheating, I know) As far as some of the actors leaving, I know the actors playing Jaime and Mark both wanted to leave the show and I don't think either one of them really found any better acting gigs. I still think there are plenty of older actors on the show, which I like. That's one difference over American soap operas if you think about it.....many of the people are very ordinary looking (not all beautiful like on American soaps). Another thing is there is no dramatic background music, like American soaps AND no commercials. As it's a BBC show, which does not have any commercials...kind of like PBS. I like all that. I thought I heard Dan Sullivan mentioned the other night! He's in prison now, right? (with Martin maybe). How did you like Barry winning the pancake contest.....wasn't that gross? LOL. I can understand why Natalie would want to leave him, but she hasn't been too nice to him....kinda feel sorry for him.

I didn't want to join Facebook either, but did want to participate in this message board, so here I am! Actually, Facebook is kind of fun, too.
Michelle is Pauline's daughter -- an original character. She had an affair with Den, the owner of the Vic, when she was 16 years old. (Den is Sharon's father. Sharon and Michelle were best friends.) The baby was named "Vicki," in honor of the Queen Vic pub. Michelle married someone else to give her baby a father, but it ended in divorce. She subsequently moved to Birmingham, Alabama in the U.S., where she remains. Vicki is a teenager now, and has run away from the U.S. to be with her grandmother, Pauline, and half-sister, Sharon. She's a real brat!

Here is am again! I heard that the actor who played Jaime did not want to leave the show. There was some internal jealousy between him and the other actors, specifically Kat and her sisters. I sure liked him and miss him, but we know he will not ever be coming back. (Once a character "dies" for sure on screen, that is the FINAL ENDING. Den disappeared under suspicious circumstances, but they never showed him dying. I think he'll be back.

Hi, gang! I've been watching EE since it first aired in America, and then watched the newer episodes on BBC America until they took it off for good. They were only about 2 weeks behind the episodes in the UK at the time, which was great. Funny that now PBS is showing the episodes I first saw on BBC America now ~ about 6-1/2 years ago! But I keep watching ~ I love my EE!
I think (though I"m not positive) that it was Angie and Sharon who moved to Florida...that's what comes to mind, anyway!

I think that's where Pauline went to visit for a while a couple of months ago. Have any of you ever checked out the EastEnders channel on You Tube? Scott, yes the Barry-pancake contest was pretty awful. The script doesn't paint him as a young girl's dream, but his "trough" performance may have sailed too close to the ick factor for some watching the permutations of that Barry, Natalie, Ricky triangle--the greasy mechanic heartthrob, the naughty mommy, and the well-meaning but clueless hubby. Poor Barry.
Hi, Lisa! Dan Sullivan--attraction/repul sion. What a handsome snake!
Bobbie, I luuuuuuvvvvv Alfie Moon--isn't he just too good to be true!! Geez, I can't even remember Simon--someone please remind me. He isn't Pat's son, is he?
Here's another puzzler to throw in the Michelle-Den-Sharon Florida or Alabama sequence. Didn't Michelle suddenly emigrate to the States after a one-night fling with her best friend Sharon's first husband, Grant Mitchell? I remember hearing long ago in EE's early days that Michelle had a fling with Den, but I thought she left town after the one-nighter with Grant -- long after Den was gone from the Square. (The Grant fling wasn't her proudest moment either, since she hated his guts during and after his marriage with her best friend. Shocking, tsk, tsk.)
Maybe I'm misremembering and making up the story as I go along. I'm so confused, but I like my version better.

It was Sharon who had a long and passionate fling with Kathy's husband, Phil Mitchell. If I remember right, Sharon was at that time married to Phil Mitchell's, brother, Grant, who was in gaol (jail). I can't remember if Michelle and Grant ever had a one-night stand, but I do remember that they really HATED each other!!

Back to the Alabama/Florida controversy: I clearly remember that when Michelle was leaving EE, she dropped a bombshell by saying she was moving to Birmingham with her baby daughter, Vicki. Everybody was surprised by that news, but even more surprised when she finally revealed that it was Birmingham, Alabama -- NOT Birminham, England. A few years later it was revealed by her mother, Pauline, that Michelle had married someone in Alabama and would be moving to Florida with her new husband. I think they had 2 children together, in addition to Vicki. So, Pauline DID go to Florida to visit her family in the U.S. I also think Vicki ran away from home because she wasn't getting along with her mother, Michelle.

Yes! I also remember the Sharon-Phil affair--and its resurrection this past year before the fireman (what's-his'name-never-did -like-him).
Also, remember the Kathy-Grant payback on Kathy's last visit to Albert Square? That was distressing, but after all Phil had told Kathy she was old and ugly while he was still married to her and on one of his drunks. I guess I'm going to have to go to the BBC website for research on that one-nighter Michelle had with Grant. Thanks for the update on Michelle's US wander through the South.

WOW ... this sounds like a very steamy Soap Opera! I'm not interested in American Soap Operas at all -- they seem so phony -- but EE is definitely different. For one thing, the writing is so good; for another, the directing and acting is outstanding. It does have stereotypical elements of the Soap Opera genre, but is far superior to most of the offerings on American TV. Does anyone remember the wrenching episodes about mercy killing between Dot and her old dying friend?

Hello, everyone!!! Nothingk: Yes, you're right, Michelle did emigrate to the US after having a one-night fling with Grant ~ AND she ended up pregnant with his son, who she named Mark. Mark knows about it, but I don't think anyone else was ever told.
Thanks, Bobbie, for clearing up the Alabama/Florida thing with Michelle! If I remember correctly, Michelle was going to America originally to work with one of her professors at university, wasn't it?
I never could stand Kathy, even at the first when she was married to Pete Beale (Ian's dad). I personally think (and I know there are those who would disagree) that she drove Phil to drink. JMHO!
Bobbie, I definitely remember the episodes with Dot and a dying Ethel (who I absolutely loved! So eccentric and fun!). I'd missed them when I watched on BBCA because my cable was out, so I was really glad when they showed them on KBDI so that I'd get to see them.
You're all probably watching the end of tonight's episodes ~ I'm recording them at the moment to watch later! Talk to you all soon!
Scott, thanks so much for the video links!

Yes, Kevin, lucky you to have lived there! Where in England did you live? I have friends in London and Yorkshire and have stayed up to 6 weeks at a time, but it's been almost 2 years since I've been to London/UK. I would love to live there.
I too remember Ethel's death....actually I had started watching EE full time a little before that. Remember when Dot went to "prison" for shoplifting, as a result of her guilt for assistance with Ethel's suicide? I just watched the show off and on prior to that and on BBC America and when I was in UK, so I didn't really get into the storyline and characters until then. I love listening to London accents.
You're welcome Lisa, for the video links! Here's a funny parody of Dot and Kat: http://www.youtube.com/wat ch?v=ihADyyf0_Mg

Well I watched last night's episodes and thought I would post something quickly before heading off to Taste of Colorado.
Now that Janine knows about Nat and Ricky (and spilled the beans to Sam), I sure hope Nat will finally end it with poor Barry and give him the peace he needs to move on. Did you notice that look in Janine's eyes....like she's turned evil again? She has seemed lately to be too nice.
I wonder how long Lynne will last at the laundrette under Pauline's reign? Probably not long. My guess is Dot will be back. Does anyone here know how to spell or pronounce Mr. Opadopalus (LOL) or whatever his name is!!!
Poor Gus finally catches a break and Wellard is back, but now he seems to be screwing things up at the Caff. He won't last long. Maybe he'll end up at the laundrette and Lynne will get her job back at the Caff, if she makes up with Laura that is.
What's going to happen with Paul's baby? Can you imagine a poor child living in that B&B, which probably reeks of cigarette smoke and cheap booze? Now that he's got a new job, I think Dr. Trueman should get his own place. Surely he'll make enough money!
Glad to see Phil and Peggy back. So what's the deal anyway. Do you think Dan Sullivan and Kate are in cahoots with Lisa or they just know what really happened? I haven't figured that one out yet.
What do the rest of you think about the last 2 episodes???
