PK mentioned in review of last week's Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival: "this year’s festival struck me as having one of the best film lineups in the festival’s history... And while I was aware of many and had seen a few of the festival films before the festival, I’m always surprised by what grabs me. This year th...e big surprise was Peaceable Kingdom: The Journey Home, a film by Jenny Stein that made an eloquent and level-headed case for a reassessment of our relationship with livestock." -- Philip Martin, NWAnews.comRead More

One thing I hate about the movies is the way every weekend has become a Darwinian battleground, with those films that draw more customers than others surviving to fight another week while the perceived losers are subject to having their studios pull the plug on their promotional budgets.

We're heading to Hot Springs in just a few days. We'll be screening the film on Friday and Sunday. On Saturday, James will be on an environmental panel with the filmmaker of Food, Inc. and other filmmakers at the festival. They will be asked, "What risks are involved for filmmakers that challenge large corporations and... industries, and what possible benefit do these films serve for our culture at large?" Should be interesting!Read More

I was wondering the same thing. When people uncover some of these dirty secrets, they have to worry about their own lives and those of their families. It is very sad that many activists are being scared out of doing certain researches and investigations.
