Josh My grandfather died of lung cancer due to smoking way before I ever had a chance to meet him. Something I find ridiculous about tobacco companies and the FDA is the fact that the FDA will ban something like ephedra which was proven to cause heart attacks in some people but won't touch cigarettes I say ban cigarettes! Something that has been proven to kill people, something that has been altered to increase the effectiveness of the nicotine delivery. I would support "truth" if they came out as Anti-tobacco not just trying to inform the public about the horrible things tobacco companies have done and will do to maintain and increase their customers. The amount of money that smoking has cost taxpayers is outrageous. If the government really cared they would ban tobacco, but they won't do that because of the taxes it collects from people being stupid. I don't see how tobacco addiction is any different than a heroin addiction, the only difference tobacco kills slower.

Katherine Crowe Alrighty, so all of the people on my Moms side of the family has smoked before. My grandfather had died of stage 4 lung cancer because of it. As for my Dads side, my aunt and my grandmother smoked. My aunt has some serious medical problems due to the mixture of smoking and bad health. And my grandmother had 2 strokes and still smoked 4 packs a day until the day she died. And now im surrounded by young teens and new family members I have met who smoke. I'm supporting this cause for what it is doing. And trying to educate the people on what they should know about cigarrettes. They're not telling people what to do. Only showing how cigarrette companinies try to cover up the harms of being a smoker. and as Brandi Mcdonald, nobody is telling you how to live your life. And apparently, you've been misinformed as well when it comes alcohol, marijuana and cigarrette statistics. Smoking one blunt is the equivalent of smoking one pack of cigarrettes. Look it up -__-

Cindy Thomas my father recently died of emphysema after smoking all of his life. i watched it kill him slowly over a ten year period. when he was young they were showing Popeye the sailor man smoking and all was cool. when he finally started realizing how bad it was killing him, it was too hard to quit. yet, he willingly let me create art documenting what all he went thru in sculpture, video and paint. i am also a high school art teacher who sees many kids falling into the trap even though they "know better". thank you The Truth for what you are doing. let me know if there is any way I can help.

Blane Williams Wow...Brandi Mcdonald...what can we say to all of that except...I agree with Vincent you are not setting a great example for that child and perhaps Lucille Ball needed a heart transplant because smoking damaged her original....and we can see by your language that the educational system is NOT working so perhaps another tax increase is needed....I can say these things because I am an ex-smoker....I know what it is like on both sides and believe me being a non smoker is a much better place to be...It was very difficult to put those cigarettes down but after several tries, I was able to accomplish my goal with a lot of help from, believe it or not, Redoctane, the developers of Guitar Hero....keep up the good work Truth....Thank you!!!!!

Jamie Obama has been trying to quit smoking for years. He also just signed the most significant anti-smoking bill to date, giving the FDA the right to regulate what composes cigarettes and publicizing their ingredients to prevent youth from taking up smoking. Lucille Ball didn't die from smoking, and she's lucky--50 percent of smokers do. Truth® does not consider itself an anti-smoking campaign; go to their website and read their "About Us" section. Their intention is to reach everyone, especially young people, with well-researched facts about tobacco and the tobacco industry.

Craig Dennison I don't think what the truth does is unconstitutional either, but their commercials on television stretch the truth more than the big tobacco companies do. If they could just stick the the facts instead of trying to say the most shocking things they can think of I would be more inclined to back their cause.

Tara Manola i don't see how the truth is doing is unconstitutional. freedom of speech. just lettin ppl know what's bad abt smoking...and the causes of it, and how 2nd hand smoke kills others too. but i'm glad there's a site and everything, putting advertisments up, especailly targeting young ppl to give them a little advise about what smoking can do to a person, and how bad it is for them and the people around them.
You and Jennifer Rebecca like this.

Wow seems like this Brandi Mcdonald person isn't setting such a great example for that child in the picture for her.
Anyway Truth, it's great to see that you all are still doing what your doing. I remember when Truth was in Florida and the SWAT Students were creating the commercials. I was fortunate enough to be a member of SWAT and now my job is SWAT Coordinator for my local county. It feels great to keep fighting the fight against Big Tobacco...every year or so we make great advancements! I'm writing on your wall to ask for a copy of your new commercials. I'm in the process of creating a Media Literacy class outline and those commercials would be an excellent asset. Please send me a message with who I should contact!
Thanks,
Vincent

Brandi Mcdonald yall are worried about smokers when yall should be worried about the drinking problem people get drunk and drive and kill people atleast when i smoke and drive i know what i am doing yall all need to get a life and let people do what they want.
Jessica at 8:46pm June 28
I have to say, you're being a bit hypocritcal. You're saying that we "need to get a life and let people do what they want." but you're here telling us that we shouldn't be doing this? I'm not quite understanding. People should be able to "do what they want", but we can't talk about the dangers of tobacco because you don't agree with it? No one ... Read Moreis forcing you to agree with us. No one is even forcing you to read this page. You came here all on your own. If you don't want to listen to us, you don't have to.

Joel A. Ohmer Haven't heard much from you guys on obama's smoking habit ...
