Friends of Twinhead, the Missoula Oblongata, is coming to Atlanta!
This group is absolutely fantastic. Their work is so thrilling and interesting to watch. We hosted them last year with their amazing work, The Last Hurrah of the Clementines, and now they're coming back with a brand-new show, The 50 Greatest Ladies and G...entlemen! Here's their synopsis:

It takes place just after the Treaty of Versailles. A veteran who is genetically predisposed to cowardice searches for his brother from whom he’s received a mysterious letter. When the veteran comes upon the town from whence the letter came, he finds that his brother (and the rest of the town) have been caught in a dance mania—a hysterical mass tarantism. With no one else around, the veteran befriends a spider—likely the one who is responsible for the tarantism, and together, they go up against the town doctor who believes that breakfast is beneath love. As always, we've created our own homemade lighting system—run from the stage by the performers, as well as an interactive set made of junk, and an original score played live by the composers-turned-actors.

And here is the best part: it is pay-what-you-can! This is a recession-proof show!

Missoula Oblongata will be in Atlanta ONE NIGHT ONLY, Monday, July 13th, at 8:30 p.m. at Eyedrum, 290 MLK Jr. Dr, Atlanta GA. Don't miss your opportunity to see this amazing ensemble at work!

Here's some things people have said about them:
"The romance of vaudeville, the adrenaline of punk, and the playfulness of the Children's Television Workshop...packing the house with theatre buffs as well as with those who tend to fidget in velvet seats." --St. Louis Magazine

“Twisted and beautiful…the stage is transformed into a place of magic again and again. 4.5 stars (out of 5).” – Edmonton Sun

"Bizarrely frolicsome, cogently playful, sweetly surreal...Such is the genius of The Missoula Oblongata--quirky, but also exquisitely made and elegantly presented."-- The Santa Fe Reporter

“For a traveling three-person show, it's a play with a surprising breadth of vaudevillian pageantry...The most charming original production of the year...One of a Dozen Defining Arts Moments of 2006” – The Missoula Independent

"Playfully disorienting dialogue and amusingly low-budget set design...charming and even somewhat profound, thanks to the strength of the songs and the inventiveness of the writing."--Baltimore City Paper

“The Missoula Oblongata--whose last play moved even this cynical theater-hater-- prides itself on its "aggressively inventive and experimental" approach to theater. And while that may sound pretentious and a bit daunting, it's anything but.” –The Willamette Week

"One of the more original companies performing under the fringe theater banner right now."--Baltimore City Paper

“Gorgeous, poetic, funny, moving…I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like it.” --The Urbana News-Gazette

"In The Missoula Oblongata's case, all signs point to an art form full of wonder that is not dying, one that long ago broke down the fourth wall and continues to be a transforming influence in a thriving arts community."-- The Valley Advocate

“I don’t want to say that it was the best show I’ve ever gone to, as that would be a disservice to a lifetime of wonderful memories, formative moments and transcendent, cathartic, or historical experiences. But it is safe to say that I have never been to a show at which I was so absolutely and thoroughly delighted. I absolutely, without a doubt, 100% could not have loved it any more.” –Fujichia.com

"Their shit is really something to see!" -Twinhead Theatre

See you on July 13th for an evening you'll never forget!

When fraternal twins Judy and Clay went on their field trip, they thought it would be your typical visit to the local time and space research lab. Little did they know that a terrorist attack would send them hurtling not only through time, but through space as well. Will they come face to face with Hitler or Montezum...a? Will they train for the Olympics or travel through the cosmos? Only you can decide in this decidedly child un-friendly play, inspired by those awesome books we all read as in our respective youths! And with three nights of performances and two performances a night, the possibilities are endless... well, not really... but there's like... 30... or so? I don't know; I was never good with factorials.

So come on out and see the kids, meet superscientist Dr. Hardly Wright and his evil sister, and find out exactly what a chimpclops is. As for anything else that happens, well, that's up to you.

Choose Your Own Adventure was written by Twinhead Theatre. It features the company members of Twinhead Theatre as well as a number of new actors who are ready to tear the stage up. It is directed by Eli Banks, Krista Carothers, Cherry Delrosario, and Julian Modugno.
