Spanning the city's history, "Out & Proud in Chicago" tells the story of this vast and diverse community through historical record, personal writings and recollection. 'We're working with voices and history, looking to understand and share the stories of those whose courage and sense of personal strength helped shape... and change an entire society's concept of what it means to be a full respected, fully accepted member of the broader human family', offers co-producer Alexandra Silets. 'It is our goal to create a work that will illuminate, inform and entertain'.
A discussion with Tracy Baim, editor of the "Out and Proud in Chicago" book and a consultant on the film will follow the screening.

There is a $25 registration fee if you are interes...ted in walking, which includes a t-shirt, and a bib number and chip (if you are running instead of walking). T-shirts, etc. will be able to be picked up from 5710 closer to the event. If you are unable to walk, please consider making a donation to the team. Team members can set their own goals for fundraising, and we are hoping to raise at least $10,000 our initial year (if not more). You can go to the team’s website to sign-up to participate or to make a donation. That website is: http://afc.aidschicago.org/netcommunity/ uchicago.
