One professor at UCSC told us our college experience wasn't complete without experiencing a protest. Our assignment was to attend a rally/protest and report on the experience. I remember the protests of tuition fee increases in the late 90's. A student chained herself to the main sign at the base of campus for a few days. It's nice to see ... Read Morestudents standing up for injustice-- I just wish it had been in a more constructive way than causing damage to state property... in the end those same students and indeed all students (and taxpayers too!) end up footing the bill for those charges. The budget is already strained enough without adding unanticipated bills like this.
