Public Safety has received numerous calls in reference to a mass text message and Facebook post circulating throughout the UMDNJ campus referencing gang initiation threats towards citizens. Public Safety has contacted NJ State Police and the Newark Police and determined that the information in the email does not presen...t a credible threat to campus security. The subject of this message originated as a prank in California early this week. An article in the Star Ledger has identified this rumor as a hoax.
