Philip Williams Hi! I'm applying for Fall 2010. Does anyone know what address I send my undergrad transcript to?

Is admission into the whole University separate from admission into the
School of Music, Theatre, and Dance? For example, if I do not get
accepted into the theatre program, could I still just be accepted into
the school? Or do you have to also apply to LSA?

Genise Paige Deal Hey I have a question. I am applying as a transfer currently for the musical theatre program only because I have been to college and haven't been in high school since 2007, however I don't know how it competely works. Do tranfser student begin the program from the begining or do they skip certain intro classes?

Sarah Lasko Hey! I have two questions. First, should I send my supplementary materials (recommendations, resume, transcripts, repertoire list) to the regular undergrad admissions address or to the UMich School of music address? Also, if I want to double major and I'm a transfer, should I send in materials now or start out in one major and add the other one later? Thank you!

Alexis Semevolos hey! just wondering, for the repertoire list should I put it alphabetical order by last name or first name of the composer? hahah! I wanna make it perfect!

Andrea Love Another question! On the audition request form, do I need to know exactly what I'm performing for the audition? There's a place to fill it out, but honestly it's 3 months away, and I have no idea what I'm doing. How strict is this?

Andrea Love I have a question: I'm applying as a transfer to the musical theater program, and I was wondering if there is any way to figure out what year I would be accepted into due to my credits. I know some schools have very strict programs that will only admit you as a freshman because the curriculum is so specific. What's up with Michigan?

QUESTION:
On the Repertoire list, when it says label "M" if you performed it from memory, and "P" if you performed it in public. If we performed it in public from memory are we supposed to label it "MP" or just "P?" Because I could have performed something in public but not from memory, then I would label the piece "P" ...because I performed it in public not from memory. Hah Sorry I hope that was clear...Read More

Madelyn I plan to audition for the Musical Theatre program in 2011, and I am hoping to get a head start on preparation. For song selection, I understand that one peice must predate 1965. If I were to perform "Take Me To The World" (1966), would it count?

Wood Stock I'm applying to your M.M. in Music Education with Certification Program. I have one question about the audition requirements: what are your audition requirements for Music Education applicants whose main instrument is Cello? Should I follow the same audtion requirements for Cello Performance applicants? Do you require a prescreening audition tape for Music Education with Certificate applicants?

Called “the world’s most perfect opera,” The Marriage of Figaro has delighted audiences since its premiere in 1786. The first collaboration between Mozart and librettist da Ponte, Figaro is the successful sequel to The Barber of Seville. Da Ponte’s witty libretto melds humor with humanity and is paired with Mozart’s gr...oundbreaking score in a true marriage of music and drama. From the instantly recognizable overture to the rousing ensemble finale, the opera is filled with one brilliant melody after another. A celebrated operatic tour de force, The Marriage of Figaro sparkles with genius.
