United Animal Nations Once again, justice prevails! 2005 Barkansas owner sentenced today; jail time, large fines and best of all "After her release from custody, Judge Gearhart issued orders preventing Hanson from owning, possessing, or being in contact with any animal." Thank you to all the volunteers who helped those dogs. As always, it wouldn't have been possible without you.

We had a pet store owner, here, who was shut down years ago and fined but no jail time. She was also told "no contact w/animals" but she moved to another state and started all over again. Luckily, they caught her again and there was some drug involvement too so she finally got some jail time.

United Animal Nations Wonderful news on our puppy mill poster dog from Kaufman TX! Makes it all worth it to hear these stories.

Source: hsus.typepad.com
Tillie was rescued from a puppy mill we raided in Kaufman County, Texas, where she was discovered in a dark, dilapidated enclosure. Now she’s got much more love and light focused on her, and she looks like a different dog.

As you can see, these dogs are not your usual puppy mill dogs. We didn't get that gratifying "Thank goodness, your here - save us!" that we usually get. These dogs were in sad shape. Luckily, at the end of the deployment, as we were ...loading them on the truck for rescue - we saw a whole lot of tail waggin - very good... for moral for the volunteers and a great sign for the dogs! Thank goodness UAN was there for these dogs. They didn't have any other hope.Read More

United Animal Nations Watch the video of UAN helping the dogs from our latest puppy mill raid in Arkansas. These dogs really needed the care, compassion and expertise of the UAN volunteers. They had given up hope until they found out how wonderful life can be with EARS care!

United Animal NationsSusan: we know they're out there...they must be. Cats tend to present many of their illnesses more obviously than dogs, so maybe they can't get away with it as easily? United Animal Nations Arkansas puppy mill dogs arrive at WARL in WA DC. Great to see them barking and wiggling like real dogs, instead of just sitting quietly with that blank look in their eyes. They are already starting to sparkle and things are just going to keep getting better for them. Thank goodness!

Tereza: Who can say no to WARL if they offer? :) There is also a very limited number of rescue groups in Arkansas with the extraordinary resources these dogs needed. Animal rescue groups have been so active in Texas I imagine we have saturated that area of the country, at least for the moment. I think the powers that be saw an opportunity and took it rather than totally inundate the wonderful rescue groups in the southwest. This is just my opinion. Janell

United Animal Nations Stay tuned for more on the latest AR puppy mill raid. As with most puppy mill dogs, these dogs were living a horrible life, but they had really lost faith, it was heart wrenching. They are going to begin to thrive so quickly, just having fresh air makes a world of diffence to them. Imagine how much they are going to appreciate being treated like dogs and members of the family.
