University of Michigan School of Social Work Are you in the mood to volunteer? If so, the School of Education and the School of Social Work need your help. Each year the schools host around 700 elementary, middle school, and high school students for a day of discussion and performances with emphasis not just on historical events and the Civil Rights Movement bu...t also contemporary issues of race, class, social justice, diversity, and societal change as it applies to current K-12 students.

Volunteer duties include building preparation, registration help, hallway guides, classroom aides, safety monitors, lunch set-up/take-down, and building clean-up. Shifts for volunteers last 4 hours but if you want to stay all day that is also an option.

You MUST attend one of two trainings for volunteers either Monday, Jan. 11 from 7:00 to 7:30 PM or Thursday, Jan. 14 from 7:00 to 7:30 PM in the School of Education, Room TBD. Include your first and last name, your email, your campus affiliation, which shift times you would like to work (7-11, 12-2, 2-4), and which training session you will attend.
