The Deuce: Grindhouse Cinema Database was in large part inspired by Writer-Director Quentin Tarantino and his vast knowledge of exploitation cinema. Over the years, we have come to hear about so many films we never would have because of him. ...

Special Screening: Broken Rainbow
The Academy Award-winning Broken Rainbow is the heartbreaking tale of the industry-led and government-enforced relocation of 12,000 Navajos from their ancestral homeland in Arizona to open up the region for oil, gas, coal, and uranium exploitation. This forced relocation began in the 19...70s and continues to this day. The film follows displaced Native Americans as they take their protest to Congress and join with the American Indian Movement, turning their tragedy into acts of heroic resistance.
"There is no word for 'relocation' in the Navajo language; to 'relocate' is to disappear and never be seen again."
Guest Speaker: Louise Benally, a Native American activist who appears in the film and served as a translator for the film crew, will speak and answer questions following the film screening.
Food and beverages will be provided.
Time:5:30PM Thursday, November 19th
