Jacky, congratulations on getting started. This is one of the best gifts that you can give yourself and apply throughout many areas in the job market as well as real life. One of the challenges for me was to create balance between education and life. I found creative ways to combine the two. Because I was in the online environment, I had to ... Read Morediscipline myself to study/devote 12 to 15 hours a week. Sounds like a lot...but it's easy to squeeze in 15 or 20 minutes here or there. If you're taking online classes, remember to post and respond to posts 3 to 4 days a week to get credit. For team projects, be sure to stay positive and contribute because it pays off. April My name is April, and I am a phoenix. I took care of my parents for 7 years. I then decided it was time that I would become my own person, and I looked at local colleges but nothing really caught my eye. I seen an add for UOP and decided to enroll. I could never have imagined what the next 2 1/2 years would be like. I had grades that blew my mind away that I could really do that well. In the last few months my degree completion I had many personal traumas in my life. I had cancer and I was dealing with other emotional things. yet I was still able to conquoer more in my personal life then I could ever imagine. I can tell you all, that if you feel like giving up never do it, as you can conquoer so much. I can stand proud today that I am a PHOENIX Graudate! There will be more to come that I am sure. This has been an incredible journey for me, one that I am most proud of and one that I could never ever take away.
I AM A PHoENIX!

Monica I attended the Southern California Campus in Los Angeles.

I am a single mother with two children, working full-time, part-time in the evening; and going to school full-time. No help, no man, no public assistance, living in a small expensive apartment, and a broken down vehicle every few months. Not to mention numerous personal life issues; including lost friends and burnt bridges.

In only 2-1/2 years I received my BACHELOR of SCIENCE in BUSINESS MANAGEMENT DEGREE! And on June 13, 2009, I walked the stage with my fellow team members and classmates at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, CA. I beat the odds of those who bet against me and said I couldn't or wouldn't do it. And I am proud of myself.
