Hi everyone,
I hope you had a great Christmas day. I want to invite you to Urban Village Church's Christmas Sunday service this Sunday, Dec 27 at my home, 11am. Join us for worship by candlelight as we sing Christmas carols, hear the Christmas story from Scripture, and share in how God is at work in our lives. The se...rvice will be about an hour long, followed by fellowship time over a light lunch of soup and bread. The children in our church will be participating with us through the service instead of a separate Children's Church time for teaching. I hope you'll join us for this intimate and different time of worship.
So please be reminded and remind others that we will not be at the Collingwood Neighbourhood House, but at my home at 5208 Carleton Court, Burnaby (corner of Burke and Carleton). Link to map here:

Brief Announcements:
Many of you put in a huge effort (some over two days) to help us bake cookies last weekend. I want to thank you all for your sacrifice of time and talents. The cookies were put in gift bags and given to various businesses, contacts, and friends in Collingwood and beyond. I want you to know very specifically that this really has helped us bridge relationships with people in our community. From these simple gifts, I have received a number of emails and phone calls, thanking us for our care and generosity. What you did for the Lord was certainly not in vain. In fact, one generous person, even phoned to let us know that they want to support our ministry with a financial gift to our church. Of course, the most important thing we want to see from this is the steps that a person might take towards transformation through Christ. We don't always get to see the results, but we are called to make the effort out of obedience. So thank you, and keep praying for our community!
Lastly, on an administrative note; if you'd like to contribute financially to the ministry of Urban Village Church and would like a tax receipt for 2009 donations, you must make your contribution before December 31, 2009. Thank you for your continued generosity through offerings to our church. We invite you to give as an act of worship and out of gratitude for what God has generously done for us.
