The mobile lifestyle poses particular challenges for people trying to maintain a career and family life as they are continuously uprooted and forced to re-establish themselves in new locations. This lifestyle is particularly challenging for military spouses, who often need to support and care for their families while their partners are serving overseas. Wendy LugoSantiago is a military spouse who now runs her own VA business and no longer has to worry about her mobile lifestyle affecting her career.
- What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
- Focus on what is important, help others and always remember it is YOUR business.
- What motivates you to pursue a career as a Virtual Assistant?
- My son, my lifestyle and my wish to have my own business are what motivate me to be a Virtual Assistant. I am a military spouse and more or less a single parent. Additionally, we are moving quite a bit (7 times in 11 years). With this lifestyle you have to be creative in order to have a career. Being a Virtual Assistant is absolutely perfect for me and my family. I can be there for my son when he needs me, and I can have a career even though we move a lot. What else is there to say?
- How has VAClassroom impacted your life?
- I am so glad I finally decided to sign up for the VAClassroom courses. VAClassroom has perfected the tools that I need to run a successful VA business. Within 2 weeks after finishing my Social Media Marketing Certification I had a new client. The certification makes a big impact and gave me the credibility I needed. Additionally, the knowledge about Social Media Marketing helped me to market my business even though we are stationed right now outside the U.S. Thank you, VAClassroom.

JK Virtual Office Resources Don't usually post too much from Mashable since the whole world already follows them, but I thought this was good post on the different uses for Ning.com sites. I've participated in several Ning sites, but find them rather limiting and most are boring unless there's quite a bit of activity among that community. VAclass...room is one that does a really good job with their Ning based community. What about you? What are your experiences with Ning sites?
