Valley Roadrunner PALOMAR RESIDENTS WILL LOSE ELECTRICITY ALL DAY FRIDAY: Palomar Mountain residents will be without electricity most of Friday as San Diego Gas & Electric Co. proceeds with installing new metal power poles in the small community. Residents were warned that the power could be off anytime between 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

Valley Roadrunner At approximately 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 16, a car carrying three individuals ran into the south side of California Bank & Trust. The car ran into the depository. The three individuals were taken to the hospital. More information to come.

H1N1 VACCINE ARRIVES IN SAN DIEGO COUNTY: The first allotment of H1N1 vaccine arrived late yesterday in San Diego County. According to County health officials 26,000 doses of H1N1 nasal spray vaccine will be available at various primary care physicians' offices throughout the county.
An additional 2,000 doses are offer...ed at County public health centers. Additional supplies of H1N1 vaccine are expected to arrive in the coming weeks.
According to state guidelines, the initial doses of the H1N1 nasal spray vaccine are designated for children 2-18 years of age who are healthy and healthy household contacts of infants younger than 6 months.
San Diego County residents are encouraged to call their primary care doctor to check on availability of H1N1 vaccine.

FIRE STARTS NEAR MIDDLE SCHOOL-KIDS IN NO DANGER: Cal Fire is throwing multiple units, including air attack units against a vegetation fire that began at 28000 Via Viso, which is about midway between the Valley Center Middle School and Valley View Casino. The fire was started from a lawnmower, according to the dispatch... report. The fire began shortly before 2 p.m. on Thursday. The middle school advised he fire is a small brush fire and won't pose a hazard to the children.Read More

Valley Roadrunner FIRE SERVICES ON HIGH ALERT: San Diego County fire services are on high alert this week due to extremely high temperatures and low humidity. The National Weather Service announced that a Red Flag Warning will be in effect through 9 p.m. Thursday for low humidity and gusty winds as high as 35 mph. The strongest winds will be in the foothills of San Diego County.
