Mandy Smith Hengle Just got off the phone with Carmen. She was such a sweety and had a very warm personality. She was able to calm my nerves. :)

Jackie Hatch Sawyer Thank You to Dr Hyde for a wonderful pregnancy experience. I was worried about weight gain during my pregnancy and he helped me have a healthy, happy delivery and a perfect little baby!

Corynn Hemmings I just wanted to give a "shout out" to Dr. Maxwell. He is the absolute BEST. I was pregnant with my second child while he was practicing in Lexington, and I really enjoyed his company, care and heart. Next time, I'll be driving the 2 1/2 hours to see him - gladly! The women of Richmond and VPFW are in good hands with Dr. Max. Our family adores him!

Virginia Physicians for Women Did you know that VPFW offers free WiFi? Speaking of which, what other "perks" would enhance your VPFW experience? We value your feedback!

Hello, I just started going to VPFW. My visit was wonderful everyone was very friendly. I am 18weeks pregnant with my first child. I am wondering if anyone had any experience with Dr. Coble. I have only seen Dr. Coble once. The office visit went well, she was very friendly and listened to me ramble on, but I was so exc...ited by the first Ultrasound that I forgot to ask questions. Just want to know what her deliveries are like. I’m a nervous first timer and have lots of questions. Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.Read More

As you are all aware, flu season is upon us. Following are the guidelines that we have developed to handle the prevention and treatment of flu-like symptoms in the best interests of our patients and our practice.Flu-like symptoms include a fever of greater than 99.9 degrees with any of the following symptoms: cough, he...adache, runny/stuffy nose, muscle aches, extreme fatigue, sore throat, sneezing, nausea, vomiting and/or diarrhea.According to the CDC, “unlike seasonal flu, those experiencing the highest morbidity and mortality with H1N1 flu are children and young adults. Pregnant women (particularly those in the third trimester) and infants are at a very high risk of influenza related complications.” Please be aware that the H1N1 (swine) flu does not directly affect an unborn child. For our high risk patients (pregnant, immediately postpartum and those who have had recent surgery) experiencing flu-like symptoms, we ask that you call our office to speak to an advice nurse. Anti-viral medications may be able to be called in over the phone, allowing you to remain at home and helping us to protect our healthy patients. We will be administering the H1N1 vaccine when it becomes available according to the high risk CDC guidelines. We encourage you to be vaccinated for the seasonal flu as soon as possible and for the swine (H1N1) flu if you are in one of the high risk categories as soon as the vaccine is available.Due to the unique immune and high risk status of our patient population, we ask that you refrain from being seen in our offices for non-emergency problems if you are experiencing flu-like symptoms or are being treated for the flu.If you are experiencing flu-like symptoms and are NOT pregnant, immediately postpartum or recently undergone a surgical procedure, please contact your Primary Care Provider for recommendations.Should you arrive at our office with flu-like symptoms, we kindly request that you notify a front desk staff member immediately. The prevention of the spread of both the seasonal flu and the H1N1 flu is important. You can find more information about the H1N1 flu at http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/qa.htm.
