Volunteer Center of Story County From 10am to 1pm join the Volunteer Center of Story County's Family Volunteer Day at the Collegiate United Methodist and Wesley Foundation Annex Building Auditorium, 130 S. Sheldon in Ames. Plant bulbs to be forced after painting Terracotta pots. Plants will be distributed to Meals On Wheels recipients and Bethany Manor Residents. Supplies and lunch will be provided.
Time:10:00AM Saturday, November 21st
Location:at the Collegiate United Methodist and Wesley Foundation Annex Building Auditorium, 130 S. Sheldon in Ames.

AmeZone is open to all youth ages 11-18. Parents, grandparents, and family members also welcome.
AmeZone is a youth service learning group focused on community building activities and gaining leadership skills through service learning projects.
The groups meets the first Sunday of the month at 3:30 p.m. Come to reflect... on past service projects, learn and gain leadership skills, and organize service projects.

Volunteer Center of Story County
Join the Volunteer Center of Story County and Heartland AEA for a two-day workshop on service learning. The dates are Saturdays Oct. 24 and Nov. 14.
On Day 1, participants will learn the 4 components of service learning, the benefits, and how to integrate academic curriculum with meaningful service.
On Day 2, participa...nts will deisgn a practical service learning project for their own classroom or group.
Cost is $60, and benefits include a copy of "The Complete Guide to Service Learning," meals and snacks, re-certification credit, the opportunity to apply for a mini-grant up to $500, and a stipend of $35 on successful completion of the course.
