Vermont Land Trust What an amazing article about Hardwick! Can you pickout how many farmers featured in this article have worked with VLT to conserve land?

www.eatingwell.com

To answer our question... the answer is a lot!

Claire's restaurant serves food from many conserved farms from the region. The hardwood floor is milled in Vermont from Atlas Timberlands -- a conserved property co-owned by VLT and TNC.

Jasper Hill Farm is conserved (though not the area where the cellars are). Many cheeses they ripen in their cellars are from conserved farms as well. Including Bonnieview's sheep cheese and Cabot's clothbound cheddar (which comes from 1 herd in Peacham). ... See More

Meyer's family North Harwick Dairy is conserved.

High Mowing Organic Seeds uses conserved land in Wolcott for testing their products.

Atkins Field in Hardwick, now owned by the Center for an Agricultural Economy, was conserved years ago.

And although Pete's Greens is not conserved at this time, Pete contracts with several owners of conserved farmland to enhance his local offerings for his year-round CSA (like Champlain Orchards and Butterworks Farm to name a few).
