The programme builds on the successful launch of the GAP initiative at KPMG in 2006/7 in which 20 unemployed women graduates joined the firm on 12-month training contracts and 60% were retained by the firm as permanent employees. The mutual benefits were so great that KPMG has fulfilled its pledge to the Deputy President Phumzile Mlambo- Ncguka to double its intake of unemployed graduates in 2008.
