I love this movie. It's been 20 years since I was in India, but the movie is extra special because it brings back memories of that time.
Slumdog has fantastic filmwork, casting, acting, music, plot, colors, movement -- we left the theatre dazed and happy.

I am a Canadian, living in Gurgaon, India. The plight is not as bad in New Delhi, as it is in Mumbai, but is still too common. Slumdog is a very accurate portrayal of life in India and for far too many people and how they really do live. Danny Boyle did a great job in capturing all the mystique of India, good and bad. The cinematography and ... See Moremusic is simply extra-ordinaire. I have to add, the Indian People are generally very happy people, even the poor. The smiles and play of children are abound, even when they have no roof, no clothes, shoes as is in so many cases. We can only hope that this movie, brings about change. It is about time!!!

Again, I'll probably own this when it comes out -- another based on real-life drama... it's so kismet - the whole story. And it's not just the story itself that's so captivating... It's the way the story is told and the pace of the film that really sets it apart. Worth a watch!

its simply the best film ive ever seen.

A warm and beautiful feel-good movie with a sad backdrop of the brutal realities of Mumbais slums. Worth every Oscar Award and can be seen over and over.... The soundtrack is also fantastic.

it was refreshing that it was not all hollywood and allstar. the best movie i've ever seen. the five year old latika was even taken from slums apparently

That is India in reality...the Indians would've never wanted to show the slums of India...the British had to take over!! It has too many flash-backs but neverless, it is a fantastic movie. Makes India proud!!!

There are lot of ppl here who do not understand movies that well. It was never about the shit onBoy's face, it was abt his will to get what he wanted in the most un-obtrusive way, which he carries till end to get Latika. It was never about Mumbai, for that matter, it could have happened anywhere in slums of amesterdam,mexico city or rio.
