Staff Report:

Powhatan kicked off a summer filled with 4th Friday events for the entire family on May 22.

Under the auspices of the Powhatan Chamber of Commerce and the Powhatan Economic Development Authority, Powhatan’s 4th Fridays are designed to provide a place for good friends and family to enjoy musical entertainment, children’s activities, food and adult beverages, while benefitting local businesses and charities.

“Powhatan’s 4th Fridays will be bringing Powhatan and its surrounding communities together to celebrate friends, family, music and fun,” noted Christy Polster, committee chair.

The Friday afternoon festivities will rely on the support of local business partners. Funded in part by five different event sponsors, along with the charity of their choice, the 4th Fridays will run from May-September and be held from 5-8 p.m. at South Creek Business Park. Admission to the event is $3 per person. Proof of age required for adult admission.

The kick-off season will featured Casper on May 22 and will feature E3 on June 26; Buff Shaggy & Southern Tide on July 24; The Janitors on August 28; and ending with The Rhondels on September 25.

The first 4th Friday in May was sponsored by Richardson, Harris, Boatwright Insurance Co. with Relay-for-Life selected as their charity partner. The June 26 event will be sponsored by Blessed Sacrament Huguenot and Napier Realtors ERA.
