I agree completely. It doesn't matter how "nice" we are to the rest of the world, they don't like us. Didn't like us when President Clinton was in office nor when President Bush was in office. They hate our way of life and instead of disagreeing, they want to kill us to eliminate us (and our way of thinking/living) off the face of the planet.

Nevermind the U.S. letting corporations run all over the world, raping other people's land for profit. They do it in our own country, so why not in others? And then we dispatch our fine troops to protect "American interests". WISE UP people...things aren't as black and white as 15 second news bites make it sound. Stop getting your facts in 10-15 second bursts and look a little deeper into the issue in between Wal-Mart runs and beer-pong.

Nice shot across the bow, Mike. So please practice what you preach and educate us beyond a mere video burst. What indepth knowledge do you have of the situation beyond what we have seen or has been officially reported from those on the scene?

I've already said too much. I'm not a commentator - I'm a consumer. There's a vast world of sources out there rich in variety and the fact that no one actually "intends" to release the Gitmo detainees onto the streets of America, as mentioned above by Charles as a seemingly legitimate piece of news, makes me sad. Everyone is entitled to an ... See Moreopinion - make it a good one.

But here's a little meat for you Edwin. To Pam, the rest of the world DOES NOT hate us. In fact, many in the world recognize Americans as a generous and caring people and look to us for leadership. Here in Afghanistan, the majority of the people are glad we are here and work with us everyday to make things better. The people here suffer tremendously and have very little, yet sacrifice everyday in an effort to make their world better for themselves and their families. Some extremists DO hate us, but they are in the minority. Hating them back isn't going to make the world a better place...

You say" here in Afghanistan", does that mean that you are there and know whats going on, or are you voicing your opinion, Micheal?
